Review camping "grotta del saraceno"
Vote: 7/10
The property takes reservations, we booked in March by paying a 40% deposit and the total balance we did at check in,
Price: 30 euros per person for a structure that has 4 stars
Services: swimming pool with bar , 2 restaurants , a "street food" station with sandwiches, arrosticini etc., market, bazaar , "seafood" shop , shop of typical Abruzzo food, beach (for the beach the structure provides a shuttle to the nearby Punta Pen beach and a shuttle to the beach below the campsite (it is on a promontory so the view is of the sea) . We, being very comfortable, have used the beach of the campsite which for 80 % is "private" with the possibility of taking 2 chairs and umbrella at an acceptable price and for the rest is free. Bottom of the sea is stones so, given the presence of anemones should be used shoes, however very clean water that slopes gently.
Entertainment in the morning on the beach and in the afternoon by the pool, in the evening organizes baby dance and shows. In addition to an island waste is disposed of learning outside the pitch according to the days, a real separate collection. The property also organizes the tremor hike on Tuesdays and Thursdays (absolutely worth it), and they think of everything. Hours of silence are from 14 to 16 in the afternoon and from 1 to 7 at night, except for special holidays. About 8 minutes by car there is vast with the amenities that a city offers. About 70% of the campsite is occupied by yearlings and campers, but this gave us no problem. Personally the experience was positive, I recommend it to those with children and those looking for a structure that, as mentioned, offers many services. I hope it helps.

We spent our holiday in this fantastic place.
The village overlooks the vast Marina coast and boasts a position with breathtaking scenery.
The village is well organised.
A shuttle available every 10' for going up and down from the beach where there are umbrellas and a walkway to access the water, a bar and a restaurant right on the beach!
In the village there is a market, a restaurant and a pizzeria.
I recommend trying the experience of eating an exceptional pizza in taste and variety of ingredients at the village pizzeria which overlooks the sea via a terrace... an evocative, unique and romantic experience!

We will definitely be back!

See you soon

I stayed at this property from 20 to 27 July with my wife and my two children, 2 and 6 years.
The structure is very nice as well as the panoramic view overlooking the south coast.
Village very clean and well maintained. The location is great for visiting everything in the area and you can also rent bikes on site, inside there is a well-stocked Market and with prices definitely affordable.

I was disappointed by the reception and concierge staff who always gave me incomplete or incorrect answers.

The time slots of silence 14-16 and 00-07 are not respected by the entertainment, by guests and by those who participate in parties and events organized in the restaurant and I noticed the lack of control by the staff of the campsite.
The bungalow where I slept was well equipped but it was evidently that the structure was dated.

Having attended several campsites in different areas of Italy overall I think the 4 stars do not entirely reflect the offer of the structure.

The facility is well maintained and clean.
The large spaces prevent you from feeling suffocated even when the village is full.
The pitches for campers and campers are large and well maintained.
The rooms (we had two connecting doubles) are small but with a nice outdoor patio.
The entertainment is very active but never intrusive.
The supermarket inside is well stocked while an ATM and a tobacconist and newspaper shop complete the range of services.
So far so good, but.....
BEACH impassable. It is impossible to access the sea without shoes and in any case the risk of slipping remains very high.
Anemones grow among the stones in the water so it is strongly recommended not to touch them because they sting, but since it is difficult to maintain balance (moreover the water remains shallow for a long time) in the end you prefer to give up the bath.
Personally, I have seen very few people in the water.
What they call reported sand is actually packed earth.
In short, it is a completely inhospitable environment for children.
Nightmarish RESTAURANT.
I'm talking about the restaurant where meals are served to those who benefit from half board or full board.
The choice is reduced to the bare bones.
A meat menu and a fish menu, both with only one course per type.
In practice, those who don't eat fish can't choose what to eat.
Unmissable on the menu are pasta with tomato sauce (also disappointing) and plain pasta which I have never seen mentioned in the menu of a 4 star hotel but which should be served by default to those who request it. The quality is of what is served and at the level of a company canteen. Inside the village there are other gastronomic offers that are certainly more valid but they all require a fee.
I regret speaking in these terms about a place that, all things considered, has potential, but I believe that the management should be more honest in the description of the seaside location and more attentive to the catering.

We stayed at this campsite after mid-August... nothing to say about the place, the sea (although you don't want to dive for anemones and stones) and nothing to say about the pitches (except for the pressure made by the camper next to how much we went away xke they had messed up with the pitches and wanted our place .. it's not our fault that they gave us this!!!). For the rest so many in the... market com high prices and sometimes without indications on product prices, bread weighed by eye and calibrated badly and fruit without specification on the price per kg), animation level a little low.... in the morning at the sea and in the afternoon at the pool but the children went with stomachache xke were bored! Never happened with other campsites!!! Bad shuttle to go to Punta Penna with a driver who ran too fast, wanted to put under all the cyclists and without the security of being able to return to camping for insufficient places. Evening party with croissants x all (but at a cost of 1 euro each without having specified) much praised yet only disco and no x children. Wifi for a fee, bathrooms in the norm clean but very often cleaning girl a little intrusive. Sufficient pool, not very large and for children no kind of fun and water games. I'd say once and stop. To be improved in every way. If you want a holiday x you quiet parents and children in joy with others... it is not the right choice!!!!! In addition, there are A-list customers (seasonal) and B-list customers (non-seasonal)... and this applies to both entertainment and all aspects of camping. I don't think so.

With two children one of 9 and one of 3, we immediately felt at ease both for the location (4-seater Bungalow with air conditioning) and X the staff (Animation always busy especially for evening shows where both needs for children and adults are met)
This year was also introduced an artistic cast that supported the Animation with shows sung and danced almost every night.
The campsite is located in a really beautiful location for the sea and landscapes.
Try the restaurant on the beach.
Some small improvements can be implemented (as always), such as the management of the shuttle between the campsite and the pen tip (beach outside the campsite).

I stayed from 16 to 22 July this year with my camper. The standard pitches are large and all have a water tap and sunshades. Excellent entertainment and very beautiful swimming pool. Too bad for the beach with the presence of anemones and since there are pebbles they put and crushed some sand brought back

A dream place, really nice, clean, well structured, excellent non-invasive but always courteous entertainment, market also stocked with local products, delicious pizza (the restaurant to avoid) but food trucks with kebabs, chips and sandwiches, the kids are also fantastic of the bar tastings, aperitifs and bitters that literally made me fall in love with the Amaro della Costa dei Trabocchi. Gorgeous and large swimming pool, clean and comfortable bathrooms. The nearby beaches are all beautiful and wild. Vasto is a gem that deserves to be visited. It was a holiday that will remain in our hearts. Thank you

We had a very good holiday!
Pleasantly surprised by the relaxation and silence found in contrast to what I read in various reviews.
Not allowing access to dogs in the central two weeks of August is superb not for the dogs (especially small ones) but for the incivility of the "owners" who do not care if the little animal barks continuously or leaves it in the structures and /or pitches alone for hours, making them despair and scream for hours and hours.
The girls at the reception are very kind (who gets off to a good start...)
The view is beautiful!
The terrace bar is good with young, helpful and friendly staff.
The pizzeria also overlooking the sea is of a good standard and here too with very kind staff, some of the guys are a little inexperienced but with the mitigating factor of their young age.
The street food space is cute and easy.
The bazaar, the clothing store, the women's hairdresser are good.
The market is expensive but with good quality products!
The games room is well equipped for the very young.
The idea of placing two stalls in front of the amphitheater area is nice.
Unforgettable Luca di ZeroDuemila with his aperitifs and a really nice location.
The swimming pool and solarium also overlooking the sea are beautiful (the lifeguard's attitude towards the kids was a little over the top
Perhaps he is not aware that he is there thanks to the presence of all the customers without making any distinctions).
The fish restaurant by the sea is very characteristic, and during the day it acts as a beach bar.
The pine forest behind the beach equipped with picnic tables is beautiful and relaxing.
The beach (equipped), well it's not a beach, it's stones covered with compacted earth, access to the water is complicated even for inexperienced adults for this type of coast. Rock shoes are essential due to the presence of anemones. Not suitable to children also due to the impossibility of playing with sand (there isn't any).
On some days there was a ban on swimming due to toxic algae (not the fault of the structure).
The entertainment guys have remained in our hearts, very good, engaging enough, all really nice, they participated in an important way in the success of our holiday.
The evenings and shows were beautiful. There is no DJ set evenings, which if due to the noise, can be organized on the beach

The campsite is very large, you have many activities inside: pizzeria, restaurant, a beautiful bar with sea view, sandwich and kebab kiosk, park, an Arena for evening shows, a bar for typical Abruzzo aperitifs, swimming pool and a private beach and equipped.
The beach is not the best, there are anemones but they are not a problem if you have shoes, the sea is a good sea, nothing incredible.
The pros of the holiday were the entertainment guys, specifically Vincenzo, Claudio and Ciro who were the ones who accompanied me during this week of holidays. In my opinion, these were the key points of this campsite, between shows and entertainment at the seaside.
The cons are: the pizzeria takes 1h30 to give you 2 pizzas, I understand the influx of people, but first serve the tables or at least ask what they want to order otherwise people will get annoyed. very far from the inhabited centers, If you are in a camper it becomes very difficult to move, the paid services for the vast and vast Marina. (I understand profiting from it because it's August, but traveling 4 km and asking 25 euros seems exaggerated to me) but overall you had a free shuttle to the private beach at Punta Penna.
Overall a good holiday, I wasn't disappointed and after all I would happily recommend it again.
