While respecting the criteria of traditional elegance, the hotel is provided with the most modern comforts. Located in a beautiful, panoramic position, most of the rooms look out over Lake Maggiore and the shore that is just a few metres away. Air conditioning, garage. Open all year.

Detailed Reviews
From the moment we entered the hotel we were greeted with friendly staff who took the time to explain how to get the best from where we were staying. There was a lift to our 3rd floor room and although the basic price was very clean and comfortable with a large ensuite bathroom. Our room was cleaned every day we were there and the bed made. The jewel of the hotel's crown is their breakfast which is superb: salads, meats, eggs, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts and best of all a great selection of pastries, tarts and pancakes. The waiters are attentive and always helpful. The hotel is in a great location, right on the lakeside frontage and is a minute's walk away from the ferries. Perfect! Visit the Borromean islands, Villa Taranto and Laveno for the trip up the mountain.

We chose Pallanza over Intra when deciding where to stay
The hotel is on a quiet street facing the lake so easy for swimming so this is a huge positive
There is a Bar / Restaurant beside hotel which has seats so a nice place for a coffee or drink or food but reports were food was average here
The ferry stop is literally 100 m from front door to go island hopping so very convenient
Hotel rooms seem varied in size
We had a lake view which was nice
4 floors so go to highest if possible
We were a room on first floor
Staff are friendly and helpful
My only BIG complaint is the Air conditioning is only operational in June , July & August which seems a little ridiculous when it was 29 degrees on October 1st
If had said this on Booking.com but i had missed this
As lake view rooms face lake they get extremely hot during day
I would suggest that they leave shutters shut during day either before you arrive or that the cleaner closes after cleaning or you will return to a furnace every evening
It was regularly like a furnace !
We were a very large group here for a wedding and everyone said the same thing
Charge a little more and provide Air Con
especially when temperature is over 22 degrees outside
Rooms were quiet but a little noise can be heard from street if you are on first floor
There are 3 options for
Parking .
Pay €20 a night right beside hotel , free open carpark a short walk away or free on street parking if you can find any
Overall it was an enjoyable stay in Hotel Pallanza

Hotel in an enchanting position, overlooking the lake, a few dozen meters from the ferry docking point. The room was very large and comfortable: in addition to the sleeping side, there was also a lounge space, with a sofa and coffee table. Another positive aspect is the reception staff, very polite and helpful. The most negative aspect of our experience concerns the staff in the breakfast room: very careful to note down the room number, when in a structure of this level priority should be given to welcoming the customer, for example by asking him if he would like a coffee or other. Other minor flaws include the car park, located at a considerable distance from the hotel, and on steep terrain, the cleanliness of the balconies, full of cobwebs, and the magnetic reader on the door, which was faulty, so much so that it was necessary to use the traditional key (it must having said that at the reception they were very kind and ready to always give us the key quickly, so that the matter would not be a burden). Net of these imperfections, which we would like to reiterate are mostly linked to the breakfast service, the hotel is considered advisable for a pleasant stay on Lake Maggiore.

We are totally in love with the beautiful majestic Pallanza hotel. Very smartly designed with friendly, always ready-to-help, smilling staff.
Nicely organized rooms with huge bathroom, comfortable beds, pleasant fragrance everywhere. We had a lake view and we could not get enough of widely opened windows with marvelous views of the lake and the sound of the water splashes. We have also visited the restaurant at the hotel and we were very satisfied with the service, with the food and the drinks. The prices are the same like in the whole area. The hotel guests have a 10% discount.
All in all the hotel is a nicely situated as it is at the lake bank, so you can enjoy the views, near the boat embarkment area, 2 minutes by foot, the city square where there are a lot of restaurants, shops, but also the hotel is in the quiet area, so nothing will disturb your sleep.
And the hotel has a dedicated parking space too. Unfortunately it is not possible to reserve a car space beforehand but we were lucky to have it. It is 5 minutes walk, in the next street.
We very recommend this hotel.

We stayed 2 nights for a family of 4. Booked 2 lake view rooms and it was fine (great views!). The rooms in general were rather on the small side but it was only a short stay and we were out most of the day so it was ok. Rooms were traditional and clean. Reception and restaurant staff were friendly too.
There is an onsite outdoor parking about 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel and you need to ask the hotel for a code to get into it. So basically you drop off your bags first then park your car. We didn't ned the car again until we checked out so it's fine to do that.
Location was ok, we ended up taking a boat trip to different parts of lago maggiore which was great.
Overall, everything worked out and family was happy with the trip!

The hotel is situated in a Beautiful location in a very scenic and Calm area. The rooms are small but very nice and clean - the only small issue are the thin Walls (you can hear your neighbours clearly) Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast.

Dream location, the Hotel is right in front of the lake and the staff is very kind and listen always to our requests.
The bistrot is delicious and have a great selection of wine that we tasted enjoying a beautiful sunset on the lake with live music.

Just back from 10 days at the Pallanza Hotel and it’s a pleasure to sit down and write a review.
Location superb -literally a stone’s throw from the lake and 100 metres from the ferry terminal. Spot on.
Facilities and cleanliness - very good. Rooms are in my view typically Italian style, which we like, and spotlessly clean.
But the jewel in the crown is the staff. Every member of staff from the receptionists to the catering and waiting staff to the housekeeping staff are so friendly and helpful.
I’m going to name 2 staff members in particular -Lucas and Elizabeth, both waiting staff, who really made our stay better. This does not mean that others didn’t, it’s just that they stood out.
We had a lovely time at Hotel Pallanza. Thank you to the whole team there.

Relax in front of the lake, quiet, comfortable, excellent breakfast and cleanliness. Kindness of the staff.
Perfect starting point for excursions both on the lake (there is the embarkation point in front) and inland (in 1 hour by car you can reach the Toce waterfalls) and in 20 minutes of walking you will be at Villa Taranto.

Service was friendly, they have a garage if needed. The rooms are not properly insulated as in many other italian hotels - you can hear neighbours in other rooms! Breakfast was quite good. Location - convenient for the town walk. Convenient to jog/walk on the lakeside.

Oui, en effet. Il faut mieux réserver sa place pour éviter de devoir chercher une place de parc payante entonne bleu.
