This storied luxury hotel on the seafront promenade in Viareggio is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Built in the early 1920s, restored to the height of its charm in 2004 after 19 months' refurbishment work, today the Principe is without doubt one of the world's most exclusive and refined historical hotels. The 106 rooms, including 19 suites, on five floors decorated in different styles, represent an ideal cross-section of elegant hospitality over the ages, through to the contemporary design of the sun-drenched rooftop swimming pool. The "Piccolo Principe" and "Regina" restaurants have also made their own contribution to the renown built up over the years by the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in Viareggio. The Two-starred Michel restaurant "Piccolo Principe" offers sophisticated cuisine against the magnificent backdrop of the panoramic roof garden, where guests dine in summer, while the "Regina" restaurant offers traditional Tuscan fare.

Lovely hotel with fantastic facilities, especially the roof top pool. The service from arriving to departure was some of the best we have experienced, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Also offer free bicycle hire which was nice :)
This is our third visit to this hotel and we not disappointed. The room was great, breakfast excellent and the evening meal just spot on. We must mention Stefano the Bar Manager who was most courteous and helpful. Look forward to our next visit.More

Lovely hotel, staff very attentive, everything possible at breakfast, plenty of choices even a smoothie bar!
Restaurants on promenade but we felt the menus were all repetitive. Good location for the train station.
We chose this hotel for our honeymoon.
Once arrived there, we realised we would like to upgrade to a suite and I have to mention Martina from the Reception for her exceptional service and help.
Great service and staff, great views and location.
Me and my boyfriend stayed here in mid October and had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful and very grand. We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly lady who gave us all the information we needed. The rooms and bathroom are a...More

The walk to the beach is flat, but across the street (four lanes of traffic?) with the help of a traffic light. Then a fairly long walk on sand/walkway past all the chairs and umbrellas to the water. It seemed like this is the case with practically all the hotel considered beachfront. There are several (12?) steps up to the front door of the hotel. The porter can help, but it was a pain every time we took our stroller with baby out.
