Stayed with 2 friends. We had a triple room with balcony and sea views. Lovely rooms and very comfortable. The staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Anything we needed was dealt with promptly and courteously. The breakfast was lovely with lots of selection. We had a wonderful stay.

Just spent a very enjoyable 7 nights at this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and in a very good position for the beach, restaurants, shops & bars. Breakfast is buffet - there is a large choice of cereals, pastries, fruits, cooked breakfast & breads. The only criticism, which has been mentioned on several tripadvisor reviews is the charge of 10...

I came with my mum to celebrate my birthday and was disappointed when I was given a room that was clearly meant for a disabled person, it also had a view of the bins outside which was not very nice. As the hotel was full we had to stay in this room for the night but the next day we...

Our overall experience was ok. We had such high expectations of this hotel and most had been met. Unfortunately we had issues with the spa services that all 5 of us experienced which led to a favourable resolution but unfortunately the so called management team was talking about us at the front desk as we walked by..they simply kept on...

Pros Historic property with period features Upgraded us as it was my husband's birthday to room 130 Irina in the spa facilities was lovely and professional...

We only stayed here one night (with our tour); we wished we had had some more time. We had a lovely, beachfront room with a balcony; there were top-of-the-line supplies in the bathroom. There is a beautiful rooftop pool with views! We walked all along the beachfront -- what a great town!

A great hotel ! We were in modern rooms on the 5th floor, next to the roof-top pool. Our room was excellent ... Perfect shower, nice bed, view of beach and mountains. Staff are friendly, responsive to challenges, etc. So there is nothing to complain about. The price of staying here varies enormously, and I mean huge variations. Like if...

A problem with plumbing meant that we had to spend our first night in Viareggio at the BW Royal Hotel (also a very nice hotel), but the Principe di Piemonte staff soon made up for this. Our room (Colonial Style) was superb, with a balcony giving views of the beach and sea, and the mountains behind the hotel. Breakfast and...

It started badly and the room we were given was not good it was small no room for clothes and faced the dustbins. As we had been promised by kuoni a mountain view I went to see reception the next day explaining my dissatisfaction. We were moved to a room with balcony sea facing and it was very good. As...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This storied luxury hotel on the seafront promenade in Viareggio is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Built in the early 1920s, restored to the height of its charm in 2004 after 19 months' refurbishment work, today the Principe is without doubt one of the world's most exclusive and refined historical hotels. The 106 rooms, including 19 suites, on five floors decorated in different styles, represent an ideal cross-section of elegant hospitality over the ages, through to the contemporary design of the sun-drenched rooftop swimming pool. The "Piccolo Principe" and "Regina" restaurants have also made their own contribution to the renown built up over the years by the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in Viareggio. The Two-starred Michel restaurant "Piccolo Principe" offers sophisticated cuisine against the magnificent backdrop of the panoramic roof garden, where guests dine in summer, while the "Regina" restaurant offers traditional Tuscan fare. ... more   less
