Great place to stay. It has the most beautiful view on top of a hill. Good restaurant and nice rooms. We are with a wheelchair although our travel agent told us it’s accessible, it is doable but not ideal. Room is good with a good shower chair, toilet has everything it needs. Itsa bit high. My wife is a bit short so smaller was a bit better. To go out or in the room there is no ramp so she needed help. Also to go to the restaurant. You need to roll over small cobble stones. So again she needed help. The swimming pool is hard to go to. A big decline with steps makes it to hard to go there. Also no toilet down there so if you need to go you need to roll up again. The staff is very nice and friendly, they even. offered to help going to the pool But we had a great stay here. And if they made some improvements. We would come back…
Probably great view, but oné of the worst food experience in Tuscany. We were totally disapointed with all the dishes. Not recommended for dining. Will not visit again. Find another pláce to eat in tuscany
You need a car to get here and a GPS, it is isolated but not far from any main attraction. We arrived in the dark on a stormy evening in October! What a lightening show…and the morning revealed a little slice of heaven under the Tuscan blue skies! From this hill top the views are big and the light is different from morning to sunset specially in the fall. Family run, very friendly, and you feel welcomed as soon as you get in. Comfortable and cosy. Good breakfast buffet. They also serve meals.
The Il Palagetto was a fantastic place to stay in Tuscany. Very comfortable rooms and excellent dining and a lovely pool to cool off after seeing the local sights such as Volterra or San Gimignano. The hosts graciously provided transportation to the shuttles so we could get to the concert and picked us up after the concert to get back to the hotel. This would have been very difficult and extremely expensive to arrange ourselves as the concert is attended by so many. We were treated like family and enjoyed a very comfortable stay!
We booked a magical long weekend to see Andrea Botcelli in his home town in Tuscany. We found this farmhouse rustic hotel high in the hills of Volterra. What a beautiful place. Absoutely Tuscan authentic charm. No frills, just rustic simplicity. The room was certainly adequate, tiled floor and very comfy bed. Just a tiny walk to outside dining - most delicious food. Excellent buffet breakfast / served in or outside. The hotel is run by a husband and wife team, who, put themselves out completely to make the stay so relaxing and memorable. All the other guests were very respectful of everyone, no noise, no fuss. The views across the hills were magnificent, pure magic. My one tip is to make sure you have a sat nav. You really need one there, otherwise you will get completely lost, that’s for sure. Absoutely recommend this hotel.…
