The hotel offers a parking slot which is definitely very useful in Volterra. Unfortunately, it is a bit far from the center (20 mins on foot, walking uphill). We stayed in the second building, which is very quiet and has spacious rooms. The receptionists can give you very useful information about restaurants.

We liked a large bathroom, a spacious room, a quite comfortable bed, as well as a good and rich breakfast. The newly renovated monastery building is very pleasant, the interior is nice, clean and cozy. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the approach of a receptionist who had missed at least a piece of a smile. When arriving we could not find the hotel even by navi. If we did not ask the local chauffeur who brought us to the monastery, we would be looking for the hostel much longer... The Monastery is quite far from the center, first downhill and then steeply up to the center. During the heat days that were in Volterra during our stay in mid-September we missed a lot aircon in our room. I do not even want to imagine how difficult it would be to sleep here during even warmer summer days.

There is something magical about this place, the girl at the reception was helpful and the breakfast very good with lot of sweets. There is ample parking and the centre is aprox 10mins UPHILL by walk. Its a very quite hotel close to volterra centre.

Everything is fantastic with this hotel - location, personnel, rooms and whole interior and breakfast as well. And as some plus point - there is also mysteriosity in it as the hotel is in the building of old monastery. Personnel is extremely nice - very helpful and giving many information about Volterra and other issues tourists want to know.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights as our base for a Tuscany tour. We chose Volterra due to it being in the middle of the cities we were going to visit. The Chiostro itself is very peaceful and quiet, the breakfast room is really nice with its old frescos, and the service offered by all the staff was excellent. The room was big enough for the four of us. It tends to be quite cool at night (even in July) however in some of the nights we would have welcomed an AC. However, it was explained to us that since the temperatures are not so hot, ACs are not used. Keeping the windows open was enough during most of the nights, however some mosquito nets at the windows would have helped keep the pests out. However, all in all we enjoyed our stay at the Chiostro.
