We have visited San Giacomo for the first time during the summer of 2014. We were completely astonished by the view from the mountain top. The apartments are clean, spacious and had everything we needed. A big surprise was that a local bakery visited the farm every morning delivering fresh baked bread and pastries. The swimming pool is very nice...

Agriturismo San Giacomo located in the hills near Volterra has stunning views in every direction. The accomodations are quite comfortable and the pool and farm animals were great hits with the children. The Caruso family treated us wonderfully. I'd go back in a minute.

About 6 or 8 km from Volterra this agriturismo provides a lovely quiet location up in the hills with a wonderful view over the surrounding countryside as you eat your breakfast out on the patio. We had the Orchidea apartment, a good-sized, ground floor apartment with its own little patio at the side. We were there for two nights and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Agriturismo San Giacomo has grown thorough the time thanks to many little sacrifices made by Pietro which has come in Tuscany in tender age, thanks to his work and the aid of his family he managed to this day, to create an unique and peerless setting. Situated at the foot of the ""Balze"" and surrounded by the typical Tuscan Hills, the Agriturismo protract as more as 200 hectares channeled principally into cereal cultivation, the remaining mould is left to wood and olive trees grown. The pool, bordered by Cypresses and olives trees, overlook on a breathtaking landscape, a light breeze blows continually from the sea and make the temperature pleasant even on the hottest summer days. Not neglirible shrewdness is the use of istallions of salin purifications for the cleaning of the water in the swimming pool. So it means no chlorine, a substance that is often not tolerated. Thanks to the care of Pietro, Angela and their three sons, the guests will be able to rediscover the farmer way of living, nowadays almost lost: the planting, the harvesting, the cheerful dinner to celebrate the harvest, set up with genuine food cooked by Angela. From the Agriturismo San Giacomo can be easily reached the historic city of Volterra, it takes no more than 10 minutes, and thanks to its central position, well enable to reach the most important city of Tuscany, such as Pisa, Siena, Firenze, San Giminiano and Lucca. The guests will be able to allow their self an absolutely peaceful holiday thanks to the walk through the farm soils and the long path which lead to the wood; moreover for the fishing fans the chance for a lake sport fishing, inside the property. ... more   less
