We chose this hotel at the last minute as a replacement holiday and weren't disappointed. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming and were able to direct us to a nearby restaurant for a late meal on our first night as our car hire was delayed. The rooms are a good size and are clean and comfortable. There is adequate storage and a small refrigerator with ice box that is very convenient. The bathrooms are a good size though they are perhaps more in need of updating. Nonetheless they too were clean and fresh clean towels were provided each day. We chose to pay a little extra for two adjoining rooms with balconies and were not disappointed. The view of the Tuscan countryside and pool area was lovely. The restaurant was a good size though we tended to eat out apart from a good breakfast the first morning of our stay. The grounds include a pleasant outside terrace at the front of the hotel with several tables and at the rear some quite extensive lawns with attached small wooded area. The pool is a good size and a major bonus. There was always parking available outside. It is a short but fairly steep walk into Volterra which is a beautiful town on a hill. There is much to see and explore and a good range of restaurants and take aways. There are a couple of supermarkets and any amount of interesting shops nearby. We explored the local area by car and had a very enjoyable trip to Florence. We would definitely recommend this hotel for its value and comfort and as a base to explore Tuscany.

We recently stayed here as part of our trip to hear Andrea Bocelli. The hotel was excellent situated just outside the old town. A very easy walk (uphill). Staff were excellent. They were very friendly and accommodating Our room was clean and attractive but maybe the Shower arrangement could be updated from a hand held arrangement in a sitz bath to a 2019 version of a real shower!! We would return again.

Great location short walk to Volterra. Lovely pool and gardens . Friendly staff . All of hotel was spotless and our room was big spacious and had a fantastic view . Air con worked a dream and adequate parking ! Good breakfast . I would highly recommend this hotel if I had fault it in anyway it’s a shame there’s not more outside eating areas ! Also see if you can spot the hummingbird hawk moths ! I can’t understand the 3 1/2 star rating one of our favourite hotels on our Italy trip 😀😀🇮🇹🇮🇹

It’s a privately owned hotel. In a perfect location just outside of the town. A short 5 minute walk. The owner checked us in then was the chief chef and cooked us a great meal. The views over the valley are great. Plus they have a huge pool. Great and easy parking. All the staff were great. Make sure to ask for a air-conditioned room. I will be back here.

I’ve stayed all over Italy, and at this moment, this is my favorite. Not only is it incredible affordable, especially at today’s prices in Tuscany, but it is clean, well taken care of, and conveniently located. I haven’t even mentioned the beautiful pool, that the owners painstakingly keep emasculate. Nothing beat laying next to it on a hot Tuscan summer day to cool off. The hotel is conveniently located right outside the medieval walls of Tuscany, so you can easily stroll into town everyday, and then return to take a break during the heat. The breakfast is the best spread I’ve had in Italy, it will satisfy even the pickiest Americans. I haven’t even mentioned the best part, the owners! Family run, and they are so kind and accommodating, making sure your visit is as comfortable as it can be. They treat you like family. In an area that is slowly being engulfed by tourism, this hotel doesn’t let the money it could make get in the way of how well they want to treat you. Look nowhere else, this is the hotel to stay in.
