We recently visited this hotel on a trip to visit our wedding venue near volterra. The hotel was clean & spacious, the rooms were lovely & the staff were so helpful. The only one issue was the lack of vegetarian meal options, although we were able to find something from the menu. We have now advised and recommended our guests for our wedding to stay here as it really was lovely.
We spent 4 nights here as a prebooked part of a Tuscany holiday and were very pleased. The hotel is set in a stunning location and within walking distance of one of the most lovely Tuscan small towns I have been too. Close to sights such as Siena and San Giminiano the hotel is a relaxing base to begin each day and to return to each evening. The lovely reception, catering and housekeeping staff can’t do enough to provide you with a comfortable stay although I have to say that our group was the last of this season and the hotel was gearing itself to shut until next year. The bar lacked a few vital necessities such as Brandy and mid range Chianti along with Grappa. Having mentioned this to our representative the hotel got some in for the next evening. Food choices were excellent and plentiful. All delicious and presented stylishly. Service was fast and attentive so each meal was a good experience. Housekeeping was wonderful and seemingly invisible. Our room was spotless and very warm ( again the air conditioning having been turned off centrally the week before due to the end of the season, this did not get rectified so windows were thrown open at night) If visiting this area I would recommend this Hotel without hesitation…
Stayed as part of organised tour group that was good value This is a comfortable hotel with friendly staff -mostly from elsewhere in Europe rather than Tuscany It is clean and newly painted Possibly a reduction in wine list and range of food could lead to greater quality in both areas ,lack of vegetables ,salad disappointing Great swimming pool ,great views ,tranquil setting ,no noise
I'm not sure I would call this a 4 star hotel as it's more traditional and less modern in the rooms. But it's very comfortable, the staff are welcoming, and it has a gorgeous view of sunsets over the pool. Many of the rooms overlook the pool or have a small patio with table and chairs, so you want to ask for one of these. Theres a hot tub and a spa, but only one person was working on massages and mani/pedicures as the second worker was pregnant. They really need to get a temporary replacement as she was totally booked. The restaurant is large though I didnt find our single dinner of boar and pasta all that good. Plus, they have many groups and the moise level made conversation very difficult. Breakfast is quite good with many options on the buffet table, from eggs to cereal to cheese and prosciutto to croissants and other breads. The major drawback is the stiff 20 minute walk up and down to the center of Volterra. There is a bus and you can buy tickets at reception. A taxi is 20 euro. Still a pleasant stay and something of a resort.…
Nice view, silence, big swimmingpool, confortable room and spacious bathroom. Clean. Good food. Good drinks in the bar. 10 minutes walk distance to town. A friendly staff helped us with recomandations.
