We stayed at Villa Rioddi in October 2019 after traveling for a few weeks. The hotel was great... very comfortable - large rooms, modern, spacious baths, friendly, helpful staff. Luca showed us a map of the area and had many suggestions for day trips. We were interested in a vineyard tour and he had several ideas. Breakfast was included and was fantastic. All food was made in house with local ingredients. There were so many choices we couldn't try them all. The hotel is in the country with beautiful grounds and a large pool. It's conveniently located to Volterra. This hotel is great for families. Two families with young children were there when we were and the kids had a great time in the pool and on the grounds. Thank you, Luca, for a wonderful stay.
We stayed at Hotel Villa Rioddi in July 2019 in one of their apartments. A spacious apartment with all the necessary utensils etc. The location is great. Right outside Volterra and close to Siena and the see at the same time. The host will do his outmost to help you out during the stay. Breakfast is excellent and highly recommendable as is the hotel in general.
We stayed in the lovely A3 room which has its own small patio area with table and chairs, perfect for a relaxing drink in the evening, taking in the wonderful view, after a full day of local tourism. Luca is so friendly, and every morning at breakfast he explained all the different local items ready for us to eat. Each morning of our five night stay there were many fresh new items available, both savoury and sweet, a lot of them home made and truly delicious. Our room was large, clean, comfortable and quiet, what more can one ask? Luca recommended a nearby restaurant in the Hotel Elisa for an evening meal as we did not want to dine in Volterra itself, preferring instead to sample the local wine! We walked to Volterra each day. It is up hill and very scenic in places, definitely worth the effort. If you ask Luca he will tell you exactly where to pick up the path to walk along - I would not recommend walking all the way along the road. Hotel Villa Rioddi was an amazing find for us on a driving holiday, and we would love to return if we were to find ourselves near Volterra again. Can't recommend this lovely place enough.…
I loved this place! The view is just priceless! The host was super friendly. He told us the tips, where to park for free, where to eat, where to find the best views in the town. He not only told us where we could have a homemade meal in the village but also called his neighbor to give her a heads up. By the way, that meal was amazing. On the morning, we had a feast for breakfast! Please see my 1st picture! I highly recommend this place without any reservation!
From our room we could watch the sunset over a wide, beautiful valley. If the weather had been warmer, could have watched it from the spa. Lovely grounds surround a comfortable, well appointed hotel. The hotelier was eager to share information and recommendations. He even walked me through the extensive breakfast buffet. I liked the wild boar sausage. Villa Rioddi is quite a find!
