Friendly, welcoming and cozy are only a few words to describe this brightly yellow painted, quaint hotel that offers the perfect retreat for those looking for relaxation. Surfers Manor prides itself in being secluded, intimate and quiet. It is a place to come to when you want to unwind and become one with nature. The warm atmosphere, beautiful tropical décor, comfortable accommodations, scrumptious meals and a little bit of adventure are all integral parts of a break at this laid-back hotel. Located in Eleuthera Island Shores, Gregory Town, the Manor is a perfect location from which to venture and discover all of Eleuthera's natural wonders and attractions. Enjoy a short scenic nature trail from Surfers Manor to the world famous Surfer's Beach on Eleuthera's northern shores. Surfer's Beach has been compared to Hawaii's thunderous shoreline and is becoming just as sought after by devoted surfers and amateurs alike. It is where you can ride the waves, boogie board or snorkel the cove. Guests can also search for pirates' treasure at the Hatchet Bay Caves, which was rumored to be a favorite playground for pirates and now fascinates geology fans with its stalagmites formations. Alternatively, enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the Glass Window Bridge, relax in the natural saunas of the Queen's Baths or tour the Pineapple Fields in Gregory Town. We recommend renting a vehicle prior to arrival so that you will be able to explore the 110 miles of the beautiful island of Eleuthera. We offer rental cars, bicycles, surf boards & snorkel equipment on property for our guests' convenience. After a long day of exploration, stop in at the Manor's Restaurant and Bar and make some local friends while enjoying one of our many exotic tropical drinks served from our friendly bartender. Feast on delicious Bahamian dishes cooked to perfection from our in-house restaurant or simply lounge around and enjoy our beautifully landscaped surroundings while reading a book or taking a nap in our relaxing atmosphere. We, at the Manor, want to help you fall in love with the magical island of "Freedom" with its dozens of beautiful, sandy, secluded beaches and the friendliest people that you will ever meet. It is here at Surfers Manor where you will "Enter as a visitor and depart as a member of the Surfers Manor Family!"

This hotel was clean and that is of most importance. As to the room itself though it was large and air conditioned, it really had just the necessities. I could have offered a better rating but we had no hot water for our showers. That's a bit too rough for me. As for the WIFI- it worked as long as you didn't stray from the office.

The worst grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had. The toast was so soggy, I suspect it was cooked in a microwave. They used shredded cheese and there was hardly any, so it was super dry. On top of that, there was nobody else in the restaurant and it still took around 30 mins. My friends hamburger came on bread instead of a bun, and the grouper tacos appeared to have frozen fish sticks instead of grouper.

We stayed with kids and they loved it! Floyd was very helpful, the food was great (my son said wings were best he ever had), and he was so knowledgeable. He helped us with car rental, renting snorkeling gear and directing us to the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen. One of the best places ever!

Did not stay at the hotel, but we were touring the island and stopped for lunch. Our waitress was amazing. Food was very good. They were preparing for their Thanksgiving buffet. It sounded amazing. They were one of the most reasonably priced restaurants on the island.

One word to describe Surfers Manor is FRIENDLY!!! From the moment we arrived until we left the next morning, we couldn't get over how friendly and accommodating everyone was. The room had everything we needed for the night -- it was clean, large, air conditioned -- just what we needed after a busy day. The restaurant is quite good (but a bit pricey -- but maybe they all are on the island?) and we really enjoyed the local food. Thank you so much for everything!!!

The restaurant had hands down the friendliest staff of anywhere we visited. They were incredibly accommodating as we came in twice to eat and were the only customer. It's off the highway so you aren't likely to find it unless you are looking for it, but its south of Gregory Town and has a sign along a paved road leading to the house. They have pretty fast wifi and were a good spot to also grab coffee in the morning. The cracked conch was delicious. I thought the prices were a bit high for entrees but we went for 2 for 1 entrees on Wednesday and it was a great deal.

Over the years I have stayed at Surfer's Manor many times. I go there to relax either with family or alone. Either way, the accommodations and staff are top notch. Let me say, if you're looking for a crowded "American" vacation, this isn't for you. Stick with Nassau. If you want the true Bahamian charm and experience, with uncrowded beaches and outstanding local food, it can't be beat. Floyd and Floydia go out of their way to welcome you with grace and professionalism. I like to surf, snorkel, birdwatch and explore the raw beauty of the Bahamas and Surfer's Manor makes for the perfect base camp. The surf break is a 7 minute walk down the hill. The rooms are clean and even have satellite tv. You can rent a car direct from them or even a surf board. If you want to relax, this place is for you.

Our first interaction with Flloyddeia and Flloyd at Surfer's Manor was a year ago when my wife and I rented a car for our week long vacation. What wonderful customer service. At that time, we had the chance to visit the hotel and made the decision that the next trip we would stay there. Well that next trip was just a week ago (this time my wife couldn't come). Both times Flloyddeia arranged transportation to and from the airport. Flloyddeia is a wonderful hostess and Flloyd is a superb cook! The accommodations were very clean (daily maid service) and was quite satisfactory for all my needs. I would recommend to anyone to stay here and enjoy the island life!

So close to the ocean for surfers, good food and pleasant staff that don't bother you. Note some rooms do not have fridge and microwave. Just a laid back place. Car is beneficial. If you want a place to lay your head this is perfect.
