We were in transit to AK and stopped here for a break. Rick, the owner, noticed that one of our vehicles had an issue with a front wheel that ended up being a bad bearing. He gave us a place to park the vehicle. Rick helped get us in touch with the closest auto parts store to get a part ordered and would have fixed it for us if we needed him to. While the place is modest, I would go back and stay any time. They have fuel, food, a motel, an RV park, and great service.

I got invited to the garage area and next thing you know I am playing guitar with some Native American background all done at the owner’s persistence. We had an awesome visit with others while gathered in this informal setting. It was a great time sharing views on various topics in both countries and just a nice brief “feeling at home” stop. Thanks for allowing us to visit, the Traceys from Navajo Land.

Stop here and enjoy the scenery and the great company of the owner; helped me
secure a torn bumper on my little Hyduna Venue a rental that i got in Vancouver. Owner Rick and some companions remarked on the high counts of bear, moose, wolverrine, and other denizens of the area..........stayed in the bunkhouse and found it
superclean, instructions to replace room key on hook by front door before leaving.....
A great basic country breakfast was had on my way north; stayed the nite on my way
south.......Couldn't ask for better service. Met fellow travelers who were using cabins and RV Park.....High Praise from everyone i talked to.

First, this is located in Swift River, Yukon NOT Teslin. That is 1 1/2 hours drive east of Teslin. It is over Rancheria River on the right as you head east at Mile 721 / KM 1118.

This is not your usual accommodation. The motel unit is in a double wide trailer. You don't make a reservation but just walk up, pick a room, and pay in the morning. Many have a shared bathroom between them and there are a few with a private bath. It may appear a bit sketchy to you are first but don't be put off by that. It is basic, spartan, and clean. It not the cheapest place but was a good location for us. It was a quiet place to stay. There is also an RV campground but I can't comment about it.

They also have a place for breakfast in the back of the main building. It's informal and you just order at the window. It was good and the price reasonable. I understand there is a bar and they sometimes have music in the evening.

We camped at Big Creek Park and got on the road early on our way to Whitehorse. It was 0°C when we left the campground and were happy to come across the Continental Divide for breakfast. The older gentleman cooked us a great breakfast and made fresh coffee. We sat by the wood stove and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The puppy sat with us, I’m not sure which one of us enjoyed the heat more!

Stayed here overnight. Camp area great. Long pull throughs, wide treed areas between sites. This was our favorite campground. Gave you privacy and a nice picnic area. Common areas for horseshoes, swing set and fire pit area. Definitely a great place to stop!!

We happened upon this place in 2008. We travel by motorcycle & that day in 2008, we were cold & tired of riding in the rain. Their rooms are old oil riggers trailers. They also had camping sites. Definitely "port from the storm". We found the same owner still there this year. We found out that their cook had left the day before. The lady who waited on us was staying in her camper while waiting for her partner to get back from Whitehorse getting repairs on his truck. She volunteered to help out the staff in any way she could. "Jill" of all, including waitressing & cleaning rooms. The menu was limited but delicious. If we ever get that way again, we most likely will stop. The owner even remembered us from 2008.

We had tire trouble on the road. We were so fortunate to be only 1km from here! Not only did owner, Rick, fix our tires, but we stayed at his sweet RV park with beautiful creek down below. Jennifer runs the kitchen and another person makes the bakery items. We were so lucky they were there. They saved us! I don’t understand why they aren’t listed in Alaska Milepost book. We followed the Milepost faithfully. Had they properly mentioned it, we would not have felt so lost when we had the tire trouble! Great people, great bathrooms, laundry, also a motel, gas station, service station, cafe, bakery, RV Park! All-in-one!

Excellent food, great service !! Owner very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, highway, and surrounds.
It looks a bit sketchy, BUT don't let that deter you. Definitely a place to stop on your way.
