To start it off right, it was one of the hardest decisions. But this is my favorite hotel in the world, (a long time favourite hotel of mine). We decided for the first one and one reason I did not regret this choice was, of course, the stunning room at L’Andana as well as the fact that I have scored a room for two nights at Le Maquis. Why scored? If you are not familiar to that one particular hotel, well let me explain why Le Maquis in Porticcio should be on your list. This hotel set a bit off from the bustling seaside town of Porticcio, this property does not only enjoy a stellar reputation button, but it also has one of Corsica’s best locations, built in a private bay with a sandy beach and turquoise waters but still overlooking the city of Ajaccio. Furthermore, it was once the island’s first Leading Hotel of the World (nowadays they are not part anymore) and still one of the top 5 hotels on the island. The staff are mega friendly and I’ll definitely be back !! …
Watched one of the best sunsets of my life from my beach side window in this quirky but luxurious hotel.Fun decor makes wandering the hallways to your room a joy. Outstanding service at dinner augmented the tasty meal. Langoustines were the best choice among the seafood.
A charming family run hotel build directly on a nice fine sand beach. An outdoor and another indoor pool makes your stay relaxed and beach resort like. The restaurant serves gourmet dishes prepared in a way French know how to do. Excellent. Breakfast is in continental style but you can ad a la carte anything you might like. I prefer buffet breakfast which is the norm at 5 star hotels, because of the choices, but this way is acceptable too. What they serve is very good. We had a junior suite of good size, a very nice bathroom and terrace overlooking the garden and sea. Furniture is a mix of provenzal and some old/antique type pieces I guess the owners bought along the way. It makes a good impression away from the standardization some hotels have chosen. Internet is very bad, erratic and when you get connected it’s mostly useless. I consider this a huge unacceptable problem for a hotel in this class. …
We spent a couple of days at this exquisite hotel and restaurant. Our room was lovely with fantastic sea views and balcony. The hotel is old French style which we loved. The restaurant is wonderful with great gourmet food. This is a real haven of peace. Unfortunately it rained one of the days but they have an inside pool which was lovely. But the most memorable thing for us was the service - both in the restaurant and the hotel was quite exceptional.
This hotel is done up like a private home furnished with antiques. The rooms are large, as are the bathrooms which have been completely redone. There are two stand-out features: the private hotel beach and the fantastic restaurant with its terrace overlooking the sea. We had an evening meal here which was excellent. The service was good, the food was good and the atmosphere was outstanding. It's obviously a bit of a go-to place for locals looking to celebrate a special event. It's not cheap but worth it.
