We stayed in this hotel as part of a National Trust for Historic Preservation tour, but would stay here again if we returned to the Dordogne Valley. It is located just inside the old city of Sarlat and is within walking distance of all the sights, shops, and twice-weekly markets. It is a very-recently updated hotel that has been here...

Stayed 2 nights at this well maintained small hotel. Large rooms were comfortable with excellent beds, storage space, multiple electronic outlets and good bathrooms. Multi-lingual staff were excellent. Easy walking around this lovely town.

From start to finish this hotel & it's wonderful staff delivered on every aspect of our stay. The reception staff were very helpful. We were checked in promptly and given clear instructions about the garage (which was well worth paying for and about 2 minutes walk away). We had a premium room over looking the street - it was large,...

Lovely older hotel updated in 2007. Best attribute is that it is just a few steps from the pedestrian part of the old town which has charming medieval streets filled with cafes and shops. Great place for a stroll and easy to pursue menus to make your dinner choice. Our room was quite small for a four-star hotel, just about...

The hotel was very well located right in the heart of the medieval town. Street parking was free as it was the off-season. The hotel is well decorated and the room was superb. The bathroom was even better with bodyjets and rainshower. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

This charming hotel was the base for our tour of the Dordogne valley. We stayed seven delightful nights. The breakfasts were wonderful with an abundance of choices. The staff at the desk and in the bar were very accomodating with recommendations for dinner. When we had a minor issue with a leak in the bathroom, it was quickly fixed. Our...

This lovely hotel is nicely located at the entrance to the Old City and is within walking distance of several excellent restaurants. The front desk personnel were very nice and helpful, providing assistance with directions and recommendations for Dordogne sites and local restaurants. Our room was very comfortable and very clean (we did take a room that was a bit...

Friendly staff, comfortable room and bed. Quiet and central location. Adverse comment would be that the shower is in the bath and not suitable for elderly people. Lovely breakfast. Bar was expensive. Front desk was very helpful .

If you are using Sarlat as the base for touring the Dordogne, the Plaza Madeleine is a great choice as a place to stay. Very well located, close to restaurants, the old town, and shopping, this hotel offers comfort, convenience, and a terrific breakfast to start you on your way. There is an elevator, and the rooms are comfortable. While...

My bride and I stayed here for 7 night in September 2016. The location is perfect at the entrance to the "old town." The room is quiet and comfortable. The beds are wonderful. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My bride was ill one day and the staff was great in making her comfortable. The food is very good, especially...
