From the time we set foot inside this hotel to the time we left we could not have been made more welcome. An informative and interesting history of the buildings was freely given by the owner Pierre-Henri. His obvious passion for the area and in particular the history of buildings in the city was extremely interesting. The room was spacious,...

This B&B is right in the middle of the old city in an historical building. The rooms are large and airy, breakfast perfect. The host went WAY out of his way to make my stay perfect. I recommend La Maison du Notaire Royal to all!

This very hospitable establishment is just metres from the main square of old Sarlat! We were there during an especially hot time yet being on the bottom level was better than A/C! Each time we exited through the main port people were there taking pictures, as it was the main entrance to the town- ask the owner - it's an...

This is 17th century historic house and the owner does a great job giving you the history of the house. You are steps away from the main square. This is the perfect location for Market days (Wednesday and Saturday). You also have access to WIFI and a Fridge.

Peaceful, romantic accommodation in Sarlat. This was our second stay at La Maison du Notaire Royal and already we are dreaming to come back. Pierre-Henri is an excellent host with a wealth of knowledge on Dordogne. Breakfast is delicious and served in style. Our room was very comfortable. What a treat!!

This turned out to be the best hotel in our entire trip to France and Spain. It was perfectly located in the medieval section. The guest house had only four rooms in a medieval building. We had room #2 which had a balcony that overlooked the town square. We happen to be there on Saturday which was market day which was...

La Maison du Notaire Royal is just steps from Sarlat's market square. We had a wonderful ten day stay, in this 15th century house, that included breakfast. We had a large room with a table and chairs and often had supper and a glass of wine there in the evening. The owner, Pierre Henri, helped us plan the day's adventure...

This is a fantastic place to stay if you want to be a few steps from the center of the old town. Sarlat is a beautiful and historic town, and full of tourists in the day time. In April, at night, it was lit with gas lamps and much less crowded. We enjoyed walking to dinner and strolling through the...

Hello! Part of the itinerary I selected had us spending 4 days in Dordogne (my favorite part of France). We came to Sarlat of course. It is a great medieval city with outer wall, an active place with something always going on....lots of shops and restaurants, and so close to so many wonderful things. We visited last summer...and actually arrived...
