We arrived at Chateau des Vallons on a very hot afternoon in August. Our hostess Elizabeth Silvagni met us and showed us our room and around this beautiful castle. It was like stepping back in time. The castle has been beautifully restored to its former glory and the gardens are magnificent. There is a small square pool available for guests to enjoy which we did. Our room was charming with twin beds all decorated like Marie Antoinettes personal bedroom but with all modern conveniences and bathroom en-suite. Elizabeth prepared our evening meal herself which we had in the garden and the following morning she served our breakfast in the castle`s dining room overlooking the lovely gardens. There are only 4 or 5 bedrooms fully renovated at the moment but the work continues and all of it is charming. It is a complete change from the usual hotel but offers all of those amenities all be it in a very quite village. It would be perfect for a special family reunion or small wedding or anniversary.
