We were a group of 9 adults and 6 children getting together for a meal and catch up from different parts of the country. We had a great time, reasonable prices, friendly and very helpful staff. Food was simple but perfect after long journey and ideal for kids. Would go back again

We were 3 couples and the Old Pheasant served us perfectly. This is a traditional country pub serving evening meals and providing in house accommodation. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome with a happy to help attitude from all of the staff and check in was effortless. The rooms are all en-suite, clean, simply decorated, reasonably spacious...

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was great with a good choice, specially the steak and ale pie and the cheesecakes were to die for.. Rooms comfortable and had everything you needed. A great 4 nights break away from home in the heart of the countryside. Would recommend.

Very good value for money. The pub area is typically cosy and warm with the log fire. The retaraunt was bright and modern. The host was a charming, almost one man band. We enjoyed one evening meal and two breakfasts. We had only one problem, our shower in room 9 was weak and tepid. Our host immediately turned the temperature...

We stayed at the Old Pheasant on our way from an overnight flight to the north of the England. The rooms were basic but clean and at an excellent value. The innkeeper Bobby was very accommodating. We ate in the restaurant which was great and again of high value.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Visitors to the Old Pheasant are assured of a warm welcome at this popular bar, inn and restaurant. The traditional bar serves real cask ales with an imaginative bar meals menu. The restaurant serves traditional English fare at lunchtimes and in the evening. An excellent standard of accommodation for both the business client and the tourist. The Old Pheasant opened in 2004 following extensive refurbishment. The aim was to create a decor and layout conducive to a relaxed and informal atmosphere. We have become well known predominantly for our food. Whilst this will always be an important part of our business we are also a place to stay for a quiet break, somewhere for a business meeting, or perhaps simply somewhere to escape for a drink and some company. English pubs are famous for being just that, English pubs. Whilst they are no longer the drinking dens of old we still try to maintain an element of tradition. We have a commitment to using local produce wherever possible, and change our menu regularly according to season and the availability of fresh local game and fish. ... more   less
