What a luck to find 24hr before going a room accepting 2 adults and 2 kids and a room with space not a room with extra bed. We got the suite Opale for £153 on a Saturday evening. Staff friendly, breakfast with some choice, very happy overall

We stayed at the Metropol hotel for one night as a stop-over before taking the Eurotunnel train to England early the next day. For this purpose, the Metropol is in an excellent location, only a few minutes drive from the Eurotunnel terminal. This is the main reason we chose to stay here. Like some other reviewers, we found the hotel...

The rooms where I slept in the past (more than once) smelled of smoke - they were extra-small and OLD... Everything is old in this hotel. Only the receptionists are not old yet. The breakfast is basic... the location is sad. The only good thing is the fact that is located next to the train station and the bus stop...

We took the hotels only suite and found it dated but spacious. There are no windows so there is no natural light. The staff were excellent and spoke english as needed. Problem at 8.30pm when a rock band started in the bar next door and we could clearly hear the thumping of the bass. Staff spoke to bar manager twice...

Stayed in their suite, little worried when sent through a courtyard to get to it but its a lovely big room with 2 huge beds and a massize bath !! Night ported was fantastic, opened bar up when returned late, gave directions and could not do to much to help. Would definately stay again.

Stayed here on our way to and from holiday - a great place to break a journey and one of the few with a 24 hour concierge so we could check in at mid-night when our ferry docked. Staff very friendly, all speak English if your French is a but rusty. Secure parking is a real bonus.

I have stayed here many times over 15 or more years. It is very convenient and the owners are very helpful. It has a garage which is great and saves unloading at night. Rooms are basic and not big but very clean and comfortable and there is always a good breakfast. Some may call it old fashioned, but I call...

I found the Metropol, convenient, pleasant, comfortable. Convenient for Calais centre with a short walk, not in the main centre so nice and quiet, large carpark out the front so no parking issues, secure parking available at an extra charge if you require it (we didn't) Everyone we dealt with at the hotel for our overnight stay was pleasant and...
