I had to stay over night in Rochefort as my travel plans didn’t work as I had thought. Coming from the railway station (on a Sunday evening mind you) Ibis was the first hotel I found and as I knew the chain I opted for a overnight stay there. The service was very good and the room on courtyard side larger than I expected. The bed was the comfiest I’ve slept in! The breakfast was more than adequate. The only negative thing was the soundproofing; I thought someone was moving in my room when my neighbour most probably got up and started to move about. Otherwise very pleasant stay indeed!

Well located, and good value for Rochefort. Situated close to the town, river charente, marinas and a good selection of restaurants, this hotel is in a good situation. On a fairly busy road, though, which means you have to keep the windows closed. They are double glazed

This Ibis hotel is not the easiest to find in Rochefort. It has a nice location in the town close to a marina but that is about all it can offer. There is no restaurant in this hotel and only three restaurants were within walking distance of the hotel - as advised by hotel receptionist. Secure parking is not free - we were advised that a 5 Euro fee is applicable. The hotel is clean and functional but has little to offer other than a bed to put your head down.

Good hotel just a short walk from the town and arsenal museums, rooms where clean and the same as every other Ibis, a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities as in the UK would be nice though. For self catering there is a small pizza place down the street on the corner of Rue Antoine Chanzy and a couple of bakers nearby on Rue Jean Clemot. Currently they are offering free wifi, but you have to ask for a voucher at reception for the orange hotspot.

As usual with Ibis you get what you you pay for. Don't expect ultimate luxury but then, do you really need all those superfluouus extras. We were travelling around France and not really staying anywhere for longer than 2 nights so Ibis really suited our needs. Beds are always comfortable and clean, breakfasts are good (don't expect a full English....thankfully!)
Staff are always helpful and polite.

I have stayed here three times before and it is always a pleasure to return. Of particular note this stay was the great, professional customer service provided by the receptionist and the breakfast staff.

Excellent service at check in with great advice on where to go in the town and recommendation for restaurants. Very good for pets. Safe, secure car park. The breakfast is typical Ibis - adequate and very good value.

Excellent location for a night stop. Within easy walking distance of the town, next to the yacht basin. Free parking all around. Our room a bit on the small side but perfectly adequate, linen spotless and beds comfortable. Breakfast just fine, staff very friendly. All round winner for us.

We use Ibis hotels because everything works, they're reasonably priced and the staff are friendly. This was exactly what we found at Rochefort, with the added bonus of free parking just outside. Very good buffet breakfast and large comfortable bed. Can't recommend Cap Nell restaurant nearby though.

Arrived hotel late 9pm, told me , no restaurant, but not WHAT WAS available in hotel. Got into hotel car park but had to go all the way around with the bags. Could not use link door to not car park… WHY????
In daylight found parking outside in public was good. In the 4 days stay only the cleaning staff said hello or smiled.
The lowest paid and not front of house. When asked to do things or give information. It was done but with no inter-personal skills. Yes O.K. full stop, nothing, might as well have been a machine. Room clean and comfortable , but could hear next door poor sound proofing.
