One night stop off. Pleasant receptionist. Clean, some nice decorative touches but not cosy and no character. Surprisingly small double bed but comfortable. Minimalist breakfast choice. 6 euros for use of muddy onsite parking lot which was full of rain-filled potholes ; we think it should be free of charge or else better maintained.

Close to the centre of town, this small owner-operated hotel has locked parking and a standard continental breakfast. The room was reasonably spacious with a nicely appointed bathroom and overlooked the terrace of the restaurant next door. It also had a small balcony. The owner was very helpful with any requests and even found a launderette for us. Only slight...

I like this hotel and have stayed many times. It is a typical, small French hotel run by husband and wife with guests usually staying for one night and leaving after breakfast. Therefore, this type of hotel does not usually have a restaurant for lunch/dinner and does not usually have a bar. Our room was on the small side with...

I was greeted warmly on arrival, but being very early my room was not ready. I used the time to check out the location of the railway station- very close, about seven minutes walk- and some of the nearby attractions of Saintes including the Roman arch on the banks of the river, and the Abbeye Aux Dames. Returning to the...

This hotel is well placed for a one night stop, and the restaurant next door is good and reasonable. However, the room we had in the hotel was a bit small and equipped for one person, I.e. One towel of each size, one piece of soap. The bath was tiny. Rather poor lighting in bedroom and bathroom.

We very much enjoyed our short stay here. The rates are good and the rooms are really excellent. We had a balcony. Breakfast is very good value at €6 The hotel has a nice feel to it and everybody was very friendly and helpful We will certainly stay there again. .

We stayed in May on the way to Spain via Bordeaux. We could have driven further but this seemed a nice enough place and gave us time to look round. The hotel is clean and a little dated but has its own secure car park and is only a 10 minute walk from the town centre. There is a small...

This is a charming little hotel in the centre of Saintes, so it is convenient if you are maximising your driving time as it is situated close to the motorway system (to/from the direction of Bordeaux/Spain). I’ve stayed here many times and everything has always come up to standard. Some rooms have sunny balconies which can be relaxing after a...

This hotel is on our walking route south to Bordeaux, and close to the sights of the old town. The building lacks historical character or modern functionality, but suited our purpose and budget. My room on the second floor - steep stairs, no lift, mind your head- is quite large by recent standards. It has a stand for my bag...

We stayed here for 2 nights last month and it was great very good service, a nice short walk into the main town and it's History. The room was very nice with a view of the old abbey in the distance plus for the dog we had with us was very comfortable. All i all good value for money. I...
