We arrived at 4-40 so got one of the three parking places. The tired and shabby entrance and reception did not make a good impression although the welcome was friendly if a little chaotic. Our room was adequate but very stuffy and hot and the owner said fans weren't necessary [they had one in the lobby!] There were real problems with wifi reception away from the lobby. It was an easy walk to restaurants and shops
For my one night stay this hotel was great, being near the rail station and bus station. My room overlooked the front garden and was well equipped and neat, clean and functional. It was excellent value compared to other similar establishments I stayed in. By 8 pm the traffic has completely whittled away, so no car traffic noise. Only drawback was breakfast was not available before 7.30 am so left with a empty stomach!
We used this hotel as a base for a walking tour of the wonderful Andy Goldsworthy artworks. The beds and immaculately kept bathroom were exemplary and most welcome after hiking days. Anne the owner provided local intelligence including the best restaurant tips and generously allowed us to stow our gear and change a booking. Highly recommended. .
We were driving in the direction of Cannes, it was pretty late and we decided to spend the night in this town. This is the first hotel that we saw as it is located near the road. The woman at the reception desk was very friendly, she spoke English, gave us a room and helped with advice where to go for dinner. After reviewing the hotel, we found out that this building is very old, with a history. No Wi-Fi in the room and very difficult to have it in a lobby. Free city parking near hotel. Room was very small, but nice - in Provence style, but very-very hot and without air-conditioner. We were afraid to open the window not to run the mosquitoes to the room, so do not use the light - it is very inconvenient. At night the window had to open, or could suffocate. The light from the window opposite shone in his eyes and it was very noisy from the street. I slept very badly. So if you want to have good rest - I think it is not at this hotel. By the way, it is rather expensive for 2 stars. Maybe choose it only for one night.…
We came to this city late hoping to find a place to stay. And we are lucky again. Place was located close to center not far away from from restaurants and other attractions . Place has a history during World War 2 . Housing French Resistance. Friendly lady told us about local food we can get in late hours. Internet was working only in lobby but who cares, place was nice and cozy.
