This is a pub with rooms and, as Chris, the landlord says, also serves food. The food, which was well received, is well cooked by Bev and served attractively in good sized portions at a reasonable price. My only complaint was that I was so full after an excellent starter and main that I couldn't eat a desert. Breakfast was substantial...

Very friendly staff, the room was very comfortable. There was a nice choice of foods on the menu and you can eat in the bar or restaurant. Food was lovely and good portion sizes. It has managed to keep the feel of a village pub. Would definitely stop here again.

We have enjoyed frequent stays at this lovely country pub since we first discovered it back in 2013. The welcome from the owners and staff is always warm and friendly and the food is excellent. The menu offers a great choice of well priced, home cooked dishes which can be eaten in either the dining room or in the bar....

Thanks to Chris, Bev and staff for another wonderful stay. Can't fault our long weekend stay. Food was lovely and the room great. Anyone visiting try the home made pie, steaks and not to forget probably the best cooked breakfast you'll have anywhere. Will be back next time we're in the north east.

Just had 2 nights in this lovely oldy worldy pub with its open fires and lovely home cooked food. The place is spotless even if it is a little dated it gave it character. the owners were lovely and friendly and even when there wasn't many people in the bar it still had a good atmosphere. The dining room was...
