The website advertises a bar and dinner available with reservations. This is false. There is no bar. There is a beautiful rooftop sitting area that was a bar at one time. You are welcome to bring your own drinks. A limited breakfast and lunch can be had from the restaurant if reservations are made beforehand. There is no dinner service available at all. The lack of a microwave in the room and the fridge being very small makes bringing food back a bit of a pain in the butt. The absence of bar and dinner restaurant, combined with the need to drive to and from town, was a large negative for our holiday. For us, having an afternoon cold one or a night cap with other travellers is part of the experience. If we had known this was the case prior to booking, we would have not chose this hotel. Can you actually call it a resort if there is no bar. For this reason I would not recommend staying here.…

What an amazing experience. Ventana Bay Resort lived up to every expectation we had in escaping to Baja and La Ventana. The Casitas are clean, roomy, private and oozing with Baja charm. The property is quiet and the view from our Casita was amazing. Nelly and her staff made us feel like family. Always available if we needed something, but rarely seen...a rare accomplishment. Don't miss the incredible breakfast made fresh to order. If you are looking to experience Baja the right way, this is it. We will be back again and again! Beautiful and quiet location with incredibly private accommodations. The sunrise views were incredible. Easy walk to the beach. Breakfast was great in an open style restaurant with great views. Fun bar in the evening above.

Highly recommend La Ventana Bay Resort. What an amazing spot on the planet! Spectacular views across the Sea of Cortez! Neely and Tony were excellent hosts and all the staff were lovely! Friendly casual atmosphere ! Top bar is my new favorite place to be😛! Breakfast was delicious ( ranch eggs) ! Lunch we had fresh tasty tuna burritos! Loved everything about La Ventana Bay

Ventana Bay resort is the perfect getaway for a Kitecation! We loved the grounds, our room, and the staff. Our Villa was very clean and beautifully decorated. Nelly was so patient and accommodating (we had some self inflicted reservation complications). The set up for kiters is perfect. Just walk out of your villa and your'e on the beach, ready to set up and launch. I can't recommend Ventana Bay Resort enough! One million stars!

I've now been to the lodge twice. It's got very nice bungalows, a restaurant and bar- & located right on the beach. Great spot for nature lovers. The grounds are very well-cared for. Staff are super friendly. They don't serve meals regularly, so you need to let them know if you want food, but the kitchen is exceptionally clean and the food is delicious. Also, just down the beach are some other places to dine. Most people would want to rent a car, but I didnt, so the lodge arranged transport to pick me up at La Paz airport. I highly recommend this place, especially if you like biking, fishing, aquatic sports, snorkeling, birdwatching or just relaxing in paradise.

We have been spoiled for any other place! We have been coming for over 7 years now and have stayed in most of the rooms. Tony, Nelly and Bill always make sure we are taken care of. They are the most lovely people and will go out of their way to make sure you feel at home. Marty and Jill are wonderful if you want to learn how to kite. Stayed there because we were looking for accomodation for another night. That was great. We would have stayed there the entire time if we would have know that place. Highly recommended. Very nice grounds, great restaurant, plus rooftop bar, great rooms.

I had such a wonderful stay here. Big shout out to Nelly who is such a gracious host, helpful, friendly, and professional. The setting amongst the beach is perfect, complimented by the amazing landscaping on the property. The food is fresh, local, and gourmet. The rooms are spacious and extremely clean and well maintained with nice amenities such as a fridge, drinking water, and coffee machine in room. I definitely recommend renting a car but the location is an ideal jumping off point for whatever your interests are - ocean going or land based. I met several other guests who have been frequenting the area and the hotel for many years, it is easy to see why and I look forward to returning soon and for many years to come. Thank you all!!

This is our 18th year coming to this area and this Hotel. I have led 2 Yoga Retreats here. Tony & Bill have been nothing but accommodating to our needs. If you are looking for deep rest, kite-boarding, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling or just dipping in the water out in front of your room come! The food is literally some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life! They hire local chefs from the area. You get 3-4 course meals for dinner. Breakfast & Lunch are included. You can also book tours to see the whale sharks, whales or to the local islands. Day trips include: Bahia de los suenos, Punta Arenas coral reef, La Paz & Espritu Santos & Cerralvo Islands. Or just hang out and snorkel in front of Hotel! Renting a car is preferable. We also brought our daughter with us every year. She loves it here. I cannot say enough good things about this quiet, homey Eco-Resort. You will feel like a local here.…
