What a delight. Rafael and Marc truly created a jewel of a boutique hotel in the middle of the jungle, yet close enough to the beaches and sights of Tres RĂos de Coronado. Attention to every possible detail seems to be their very motto. The entire hotel facility, the rooms, the restaurant and the pool area are absolutely well-designed, functional and spotless. And on top of all that, Rafael enjoys astonishing their guests with creations of food and drinks that are certainly exceptional. There is a lot of good energy in that place. Enjoy!

What is there to say about Vayu Retreat Villas? Overall, you are receiving top notch accommodations, food, service, and attention to detail . While the resort is a work in progress (keep in mind that the resort is still being built in some areas), it is a beyond functional as a top tier place to stay in Costa Rica. First and foremost, the owner and the staff. The care and attention to detail is unparalleled. Rafael, Mark, Johan, Oniel, and the cleaning staff all go above and beyond to make your stay special. Rafael is a creative and soulful genius and his image is being perfectly manifested at this resort. Mark is an exceptional person and is just as multitalented and charming as the entire staff. The location itself is located 5 min up a dirt road from the main road (accessible with a regular car). It’s located right in a beautiful jungle area next to a very peaceful river. The nature itself is present and natural with birds, monkeys, and more. The rooms are immaculately and meticulously crafted with gorgeous attention to detail. There is also attention to controlling the bugs that are naturally present. It’s also very close to some of the local beaches and 1 hour away from Miguel Antonio. The rooms are very clean/new and have all the amenities: great shower, minifridge with affordable options, and so many more surprises. The restaurant on the premises has tasty and finely crafted dishes that are also very affordable (it’s vegan and the food is so good, you will not notice!). The included breakfast (with great coffee too!) was always a great start to the day. Also keep in mind that there is a gym and parking lot on premises. Vayu is truly a gem in a great location. One of the best (if not the best) resorts we have ever been to. The consideration and hospitality is unmatched and unrivaled. We left out so many details, but please book this resort and find out the surprises out for yourself! Since we have returned from our trip, Vayu has remained in our hearts. We recommend it to everyone and cannot wait to return!

We travelled through Central America for 6 weeks and this was by far the best stay on our trip. It was the last week of our trip and we were a bit stressed. After the stay at Vayu all the stress was gone. It was such a private place. Starting from the saltwater pool to the design of the rooms, everything felt perfect. Marc and Rafael are such kind people and help you wherever they can to make your stay as relaxed and pleasant as possible.
The food is incredibly delicious, we loved that they try to use local seasonal and healthy ingredients.
So all in all the perfect stay to relax and calm down which we highly recommend and would love to come back one day!

After a short stay at Vayu Retreats, I was sad to leave this pristine jungle escape. The two owners/managers provide an attention to detail and customized experience that rivals high value chains such as Ritz / St. Regis. From breakfast and sundown, they ensured I had a good stay and tasty breakfast. I stayed on the property for dinner one night, as it was a quiet and rainy evening, and it was an amazing experience. It seems the owners do it all!
The cleanliness of the rooms and wonderful, modern styling, was refreshing. Don't forget a good A/C unit, which is essential in the jungle during summer days. Amenities included were exactly would I would hope from a top-dollar chain, but at a much more reasonable price. The pool is fantastic and if you stay in a balcony villa, you are provided a million dollar view over the pool. Don't worry about the construction, as it didn't affect my stay or view. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. It may be a touch off the beaten path, but don't let that discourage you. It is a very short drive from Ojochal and some other wonderful attractions and truly provides a vacation "retreat" that is away from the hustle and bustle of places like Jaco / Manuel Antonio, etc. There are even a few yoga studios close by, if that suites your fancy.
I can't wait to return in the future to see the full vision that the owners have planned.

It was a complete pleasure to stay at the Vayu Retreat Villas! We were very warmly welcomed when we arrived, and impressed with the aesthetics of the rooms and Retreat. The aesthetics were beautiful. The number of rooms are limited so it keeps it quiet at night, and there are places nearby if one wants to go out. The chef was more than happy to cook for us even when it was late, and also offered to bring meals to our room. The pool is great and there is a wonderful stream we hiked in. The owners are very warm, authentic, social people, and we look forward to watching their expansion.

Marc and Rafaels place is a paradise surrounded by the jungle around 15-20 Min away from Uvita. We have never been in a room as beautiful, clean and well thought through like this one. I loved the smell of fresh lavender every day, the sheets and bed were so comftable and soft. The shower was huge! Also the soap and body lotion smelled so good! The room was well equippted with intelligent lighting, which changed during the evening and Apple music. We had a beautiful balcony with a lovely view into the jungle. There were a lot of pretty birds around the area and we even saw a family of tucans in the tree. There is coffee (Nespresso) and tee available at your room, which is filled up daily. Breakfast and dinner were spectacular (vegetarian and also vegan options). Everything was freshly prepared, healthy and delicious. I loved the avocado toast made with homemade bread.
The hotel is well located to explore the area around incl. Corcovado National Park. Marc organised two trips for us, which were great. We went to Corcovado National Park for a day (start at Sierpe) and did a snorkeling tour (start in Uvita). Because we had to leave early in the morning, Marc prepared a wonderful granola breakfast with fresh fruit and homemade yoghurt. Marc and Rafael made us feel like home. It is such a perfect and peacful place. Please say hi to your family and the dogs! We will definetly come again! ❤️

My partner and I had an amazing stay at Vayu Retreat Villas. The rooms were cozy with moody lighting, the food was delicious (especially the breakfasts) and Marc and Rafael, and other staff members were very kind and helpful. One of our favorite parts was the river behind the retreat where you feel truly at peace with nature. Highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Costa Rica.

I had the most wonderful stay at Vayu Retrait Villas. I stayed for five nights: four nights in one of the Balcony Suites and one night in one of the Terrace Suites. Both rooms were very comfortable, spacious, and spotless. I especially appreciated the balcony during my stay in the former room. The food offered at the hotel's restaurant is delicious and copious - the latter is foremost true for breakfast, which is included in the price; ask for an avocado toast or fruit waffle, and you will not be disappointed. If you are lucky, you can also enjoy a music spectacle :) By far, the best is the owners' kindness, who will go beyond possible to ensure your stay is memorable. In summary, great place, great food and great people!

Vayu is a lovely oasis near the wonderful Ojochal. The owners, Marc and Rafael, were lovely and dedicated to the guests who came to stay. The rooms are clean and spa-like, and the pool is a great space to unwind. The food is delicious and healthy, and there is an excellent wine selection.
It could be beneficial to have a car, given its location. Still, the owners will help you organise a taxi to explore the neighbouring towns of Uvita, Ojochal and the Corcovado peninsula.
