The hotel offers free basic cycle rental and e-bikes for 27 euros a day. There are plenty of superb cycle routes in and around Konstanz, so this is definitely the preferred way to get around.
We had one of the split-level suites, which was big and comfortable, although the light switches took a bit of working out! Otherwise, everything was as you would hope for a modern hotel.
Breakfast was good, but not breathtaking. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant (or see many others doing so), but with lots of good places to eat 10 minutes walk away it's not really a problem.
We’d booked our ‘Comfort’ room well in advance directly with the hotel, which made the rate very reasonable for the area and the quality of the hotel.
Parking along the front and underground the building is available for €15 a night, which was convenient and saved risking not being able to find a space on the road in the general area.
The room itself was equipped with plenty of power sockets (an essential for all the tech we all travel with these days), was clean and bright, had quality linen and toiletries, and the bed was comfortable, although we did need to ask for additional pillows (as we did pretty much everywhere we stayed) - perhaps one pillow is the norm in mainland Europe. It was no trouble though and pillows arrived within a few minutes.
The beer on tap at the bar was excellent, and reasonable value, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious.
The hotel is around 15 minutes walk from Old Town which was perfect location wise. We were a little unlucky with the rain, but that’s not something the hotel can do anything about and simply just European Summers!
Will happily stay again should we head back to this part of the world in the future. Highly recommended.
The hotel was a bit further out from the old city center than we expected, but that wasn't the hotel's fault, just ours as it was our first visit to Konstanz. It was a 15 minute walk, and a lovely walk at that. There was also a bus line right outside the hotel we could have used for going further distances. Happy that the hotel offered parking (NOT included in the lodging price) with in and out privilages as we had driven our own car to the hotel, and used it to get to some of the sights a bit further away (Mainau Island, Rhinefalls).
The morning breakfast buffet was extensive, and to assure proper distancing you had to sign up for set time. For us that was perfect as we could change the time each day of our stay dependent on our other activities.
We would happily stay at this hotel again.
The room was spacious, modern, with lot‘s of windows, even a small sitting nook directly at the window, and everything was spotless clean.
Bed was comfortable and there was no noise throughout the night, even though the hotel is situated to one of the main streets running through Konstanz.
Breakfast was good as well. A lot of items to choose from and everything was fresh and tasty.
Location is great, walking to the city center takes around just 10 to 15 minutes , no need to take the car or bus.
Overall we were very satisfied and will be back when visiting Konstanz again.
We also had to change room as the street was too noisy- staff was very helpful however and managed to relocate us to a quieter room on the other side!
Arrrgh, Ahoy - yep the nautical theme is in your face, but it sort of adds to the atmosphere !! Room was good, modern and comfortable. reception and dining areas good. Lack of a fridge in room was only real issue and more hanging space would have been nice addition. Food and drinks were good. and staff friendly and helpful. The Bodensee card you get for free when checking in (included with your city taxes) makes getting around easy - bus stop right next to hotel and relatively pleasant and easy walk to the riverfront and main old town. The better hotels tend to be on the north side of the Rhine. Good room controlled A/C.
"Worth paying for the better rooms. Bit long walk from the Station/Port, can use the 13/4 bus quite easily."Read full review
