We check-in at the hotel and the receptionist hands us the keys to our room. No one to bring us there, already hinting that the room will have little to be proud of. Upon arriving in our room, we find a bottle of water with a price attached to it: 3.70 instead of 4.20! What a gift. The mood has been set. Everything in this hotel feels as if it only does the necessary to be called a 4-star hotel, and being able to charge high prices, but with no ambition to do it right and with passion. The diner was mediocre, breakfast ok yet limited in variation. The welness wasn't very clean and felt cheap, as well as the rest of the facilities that felt as if they've been long overdue and ready for replacement. I would not recommend it to anyone to stay there for a week. It's on the edge of being a tourist trap.…
Comfortable spacious rooms, excellent spa and massage, friendly service, good breakfast buffet with wide variety, poor cuisine and dinner. The location is great for a relaxing holiday. They offer a lot of activities which are included. But for a good dinner chose a restaurant in the village.
The food, the view, the room, everything was great... BUT a 200kb/s connection Wi-Fi just isn't acceptable in this day and age. I wanted to work a little bit and watch some Netflix, impossible ! Even this review is taking me ages to load. At best I got 2MB, but still not enough. Please fix this, it's impossible to do anything, it's not 2002. Don't advertise it, it's not worth it. Also, translating most of the material in English would be very helpful.
This is a super hotel, perfectly situated, great food, very clean with helpful, friendly staff. Our room and bathroom was very spacious, very comfortable beds with crisp white sheets, endless supply of towels and bath robes. We enjoyed the spa, 2 swimming pools, saunas and wonderful treatments, full body massages and facials. Easy access to beautiful mountain cable-cars & walks, easy walk or cheap bus transfer to lovely village of Oberstaufen. Train station with easy access to besutiful villages around lake Constance and many more places. Excursions to Switzerland / Glacier Express etc available. All in all we had a great holiday and hope to return to The Koenigshof Hotel. Thank you x
The hotel is located in a magic place with thousands of visitors. Appart from the location it is also in great condition with excellent rooms (and suites) and great breakfast etc. What was really disappointing though was the rudness of the staff and the lack of professionalism. We ended up paying the double of the expected price and the excuse was "this is how it is in Germany". Avoid it if you can.
Staff is very kind, hotel location is in a very quiet area outside the village. SPA area is well equipped, nicely decorated. In case that all customers must be inside, space is too little. Food is local, very black forest oriented. Not an exeptional cuisine. Mastress is too rigid for my back. However, the room is spacious, well equiped.
Pleasant hotel with a beautiful area. Very pleasant for walking up to the mountains. Staff very attentive, and the hotel propose every day a lot of activities. Food is very good. Rooms are comfortable and large. Beautiful wellness area and swimming pool. Staff speak english and some of them speak french. But it will be good if the program or flyer have an additional language, maybe english ! Ready to come back to Koenigshof Hotel Resort Oberstaufen !
Was here for a business trip the hotel was lovely, good food. Spa looked amazing only had time for a quick swim but it was very nice would like to have stayed longer. Nice large room with balcony over looking the beautiful mountains. Perfect for relaxing
This hotel was a very nice hotel. I stayed there with my family (with one baby) for 13 days. The wellness area is really huge and not overfilled. Nice hiking around there. The staff is extremely friendly. Food excellent with a nice buffet in the morning and 4- to 6-course menue in the evening. Only minus is the street in front of the hotel. Will go there again.
We were given a voucher for two nights in the Koenigshof in Oberstaufen. Since they call themselves 4 star superior hotel, our expectations were quite high. However what we found upon arrival was a run-down, pseudo chalet style place, with a total lack of charm, some pools and tiny saunas stuffed in what probably used to be a garage. There was a stale smell within the whole complex. Since the voucher contained a massage treatment as well for the next day, we chose not to leave right away and have the treatment. This Ayurveda treatment turned out to be a great experience and was the only superior moment we had during the 18 hours we spent at this hotel. The food of the halfboard was mediocre and the breakfast very standard. The rooms and beds were a reflection of the whole place, they need urgently an upgrade! Treat yourself and go ELSEWHERE! …
