Spend 3 days at the Hotel Ludwig Royal in Oberstaufen with our family of 6. Overall, we were quite happy with our stay. Highlights were definitely the wellness and pool area, which made for relaxing afternoons and early evenings! The rooms were functional and cozy, with a set aside bed they easily accommodate 3 persons. The food was ok - some dishes (the Schnitzel / Schweine Steak) were really good. Some dishes did not quite keep what they promised (e.g. the Kaiserschmarren was a cake / vanilla ice morphed into mango ice) but overall good quality. A bit of a downside was the construction going on in the hotel - with the fitness club being refurbished. Once that is finished it will add to the offer of the hotel. Overall - very good stay. We would come again.
Great place with all friendly staff and excellent cuisine. Thank you Evren for a very entertaining spontaneous late night 80ies disco far beyond your on duty schedule : )!!! It was great fun and I am looking forward to a next stay there!
What a great resort. Absolutely loved it. A big thank you for the excellent room service. All the staff were so pleasant, and the food was amazing! Everyone is so happy and friendly! We did not feel uncomfortable or unsafe the whole time we were off the resort grounds. I’m sure we will be back.
We booked the Ludwig Royal based on its location and attractive reviews, but were bitterly disappointed from the moment we arrived. The first room we were shown overlooked the roof of the swimming pool so were moved to a third floor room which featured the smallest bathroom ever experienced! The lift did not even go to the third floor so cases had to be taken up without any offer of assistance. The evening meal was very disappointing with a 40 minute delay for the main course which was minute and poorly presented. After 2 nights we checked out from a planned 4 night stay. This could be a really nice hotel if the accomodation lived up to expectations and the food was of a higher standard. Bitterly disappointed!
An attractive hotel with spacious nicely furnished rooms and good facilities. The beds were comfortable though the pillows needed replacing. Staff members were all very friendly though appeared a bit stressed at times. The breakfast was good with lots of choice. A free Wifi service was available in the lobby and gallery but was at times a bit unreliable and we were surprised to find that it cost €7 per day if you wanted to receive Wifi in your room. It's some years since we have been charged for this in hotels so it was quite a surprise. Car parking was a bit tight, the hotel car park is quite small with nowhere enough spaces for the amount of cars even when the hotel is only half full. On the whole a nice relaxing stay in a hotel that I would recommend to friends.
