The hotel is 'tucked away' on a small road just outside the main town, whilst it is not too easily found it is part of a complex with another hotel - in fact this appears more of an annex to the main hotel. This being aid it is typical of the area with verandas and lots of flowers - very pictureaque! The 'annex' is merely a number of bedrooms with the main facilities just across the garden in the main hotel. The room was spaceous with a large bathroom quiote well appointed - two negatives though - no tea/coffee making facilities, and the creakiest wooden framed bed ever!. Breakfast in the main hotel was excellent with a good choice and in an airy consevatroy having superb views. The hotel boasted a swimming pool - 12 metres which was very good (it also offered a sauna and other treatments). The town of Oberstaufen is a picture postcard place - exactly what you would expect in the alpine area (Straight out of "Heidi" - and is well served with both restaurents and good shopping! The train service was useful for getting to nearby town like Immenstadt, or even to Munich is necessary. Normally this area has it 'season' for the skiing, but out od season there are still good reasons to visit Oberstaufen - the walking looks particularly good.…
Steinhausers Hotels besteht aus dem Hotel Hochbühl und dem Gästehaus Gross. Wir waren im Gästehaus Gross untergebracht. Zwischen dem Gästehaus Gross und dem Hotel Hochbühl sind ca 20m Fussweg im Freien. Die Wellnes Einrichtungen mit finn. Sauna und dem Schwimmbad befinden sich im Hotel Hochbühl und können mitbenutzt werden. Wellnessbereich leider nur bis 19:00 Uhr geöffnet. Im Winter bei Schnee nicht ganz optimal. Das Frühstück ist ganz auf vital ausgerichtet, aber gut. Die Inhaber sind freundlich. Probleme könnten eventuell einfacher gelöst werden. Hotel liegt am Ortsrand. Ortsmitte kann aber zu Fuss erreicht werden.
