I went to Gotha for a weekend of sightseeing and had a very nice stay at Hotel am Schlosspark. It is 15-20 minutes’ walk (slightly uphill) from the train station. While there were some other small hotels and pensions available, I am really glad I picked this large one. First, it had a 24-hour front desk while the pensions I looked at had short daily windows of time that did not match the arrival time of my evening train. Second, many of the staff were multi-lingual, which is pretty rare in Gotha. They were helpful with my English questions and I felt well taken care of. The room was spotless, the bed was comfy, and the breakfast buffet was very good.

Lovely rooms, excellent breakfast options and a full menu available for dinner in the hotel restaurant. Desk personnel very friendly and helpful. I needed internet access and found the wifi in the room very accomodating. Parking is on the street across from the hotel. Spaces are limited. The hotel does have its own parking but recommends you use the street. There does not appear to be air conditioning - open window for cool night air the solution. The park that surrounds the Schloss is well maintained and a nice place to walk.

My step parents wanted to invite my spouse and our families for a rehearsal wedding ceremony. No chance to get a place for 4 persons for brunch, lunch or dinner. No alternative proposal, no positive attitude, no nothing. So why should we bother for my wedding? Never again. We went to Hotel Der Lindenhof and were treated as well as royals. Great. My family and I became regular guests there. Fu** Schlosspark! Never again.

Good base to visit the epicentre of the Reformation. Hotel has stairs like The Big Bang Theory :-) Rooms are comfortable and quiet although double bed is two singles together. Was able to trace Luther's life from birth to death. Also took in Buchenwald concentration camp. People nice up limited knowledge of English outside of tourist attractions.

Thank you very much for your assessement. A funny comparison: stairs like The Big Bang Theory :-) - With the difference: The elevator functions smoothly. :-) Hope to see you next time again!

The room was very clean but outdated and decorated in a style from 40 years ago. Like really, everything in the hotel is from 40 years ago. That said, it's quite clean and serviceable and quiet. The breakfast was lovely and served in a nice room.

This hotel is comfortable, it has nice rooms all in country style decorated but could be renovated. Staff is friendly and quick. Breakfast is satisfactory to start the day. The Schlosspark and The Friedenstein Castle is just a few steps far, location is perfect.

The hotel is very conveniently located between the main railway station and the centre of the old town. Both are in walking distance, though not with heavy luggage; taxis from the station cost €7. It is very close to the museums and overlooks the park. The hotel is spotless and the breakfasts excellent. The staff were always polite and helpful. The rooms do not have coffee/ tea making facilities, but a small refrigerator is provided.

The rooms are quite big, the breakfast leaves nothing to wish for and the restaurant brings tasty food and beverages!! Nice place to stay. The city center is near and the wellness area is perfect to get rid of everyday stresses. The only thing missing is a pool, but instead there are many meeting rooms. I prefer to come here every time I stay in Gotha.

Nice property in a beautiful town. Located a 10 minute walk from the old town opposite the Palace Park. Free street side parking. Room spacious and well appointed. Classical decor. Breakfast buffet featured a huge variety of items. Big problem: large, noisy group on the hotel bar terrace below our room until 1 a. m. We had to close our window although it was hot outside and we still couldn't sleep. In my opinion, the hotel should close this terrace in the late evening hours.

A large hotel ideally located for discovering this lovely town. The decor was perhaps a little dated but well maintained. We ate in the hotel and the meal was very nice. The bedroom was a very good size and very comfortable. There is plenty of onsite parking though it’s not so easy to find. Probably the best selection for breakfast of the 21 hotels in our trip.
