We were visiting friends who live in the area and we stayed at Der Post for the very first time and loved it. It was super. We found the staff and the owners to be warm and friendly. They were super accommodating of the fact that we speak primarily English and very little German. The breakfast was amazing. The dinners... More

We enjoyed our stay here so much. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding. Breakfast is included and features fresh bread and rolls, fruit, eggs made to order, local meats and cheese, etc. Zur Post is located near an S-Bahn station, which offers a quick, convenient trip into Munich or... Very typical hotel with a Bavarian style. Rooms are big and clean. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast buffet is excellent. From the hotel you can easily walk to the Ammersee in about 10 minutes. And the Wifi has very good speed.

The staff is so friendly, you feel welcome immediately. There was a really nice vibe going on outside on the terrace in the evening, however we choose to have dinner in the Beergarten opposite (it also belongs to th hotel). Here we had such a nice informal dinner and our daughter could unwind whilst we had our food. The room... More

We stayed at the Zur Post en route to Austria for our ski holiday. After a very long day driving in heavy rain we arrived to a warm welcome and the most lovely room. We had a room for three people which was huge and spotlessly clean with incredibly comfortable beds. The little touches like water dispensers and a shoe... More

After reading other reviews, we thought this would be a good place for a family dinner. Pros: It did have a playground. Cons: The wait staff seemed annoyed upon our order and the service just deteriorated from there. It might have been because we were a larger group, but it should have not been anything unusual for a restaurant of... More

Dear visitor of The Post beer garden, Thank you for your review, although it was not particularly positive for us, it gives us the opportunity to learn and change. As you wrote, you were sitting in bad weather in the beer garden. Beer garden means in Bavaria only open when the weather is nice. Our Postgarten opening times are: Monday... More

We landed at this hotel by mistake as there were similar sounding other hotels in the area. Did not regret as it had interesting rooms with ancient beams crisscrossing the ceiling. Managed to get a small suite to accommodate the three of us. Not very large bathrooms but quite decent. Small town, everything closes early but the bar here open till... More

Great bed and pillows. Breakfast table in room, good closet space, good food, close to everything. Classic Bavarian accommodations, quality dining, great location for launching a day hike or evening stroll. Mountain path takes you to monk's monestery for lunch and merriment.

Stayed here for 4 nights in May 2014 and the hotel part was ok. First the restaurant and Beergarden - a good place for nice food and beer. Menu selection is good, and May is of course 'Spargel' season - white asparagus - which are a must. Staff in the restaurant were friendly and kind. Menu available in English. The... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and the room was fine. Was a good central location to the train and walk to Andechs. Breakfast was adequate. Best part was Elizabeth's homemade jam!! We ate a couple of meals in the restaurant and the food was very good. Restaurant and hotel are run by different people, so you cannot charge your... More
