I am staying at this hotel since 2001 almost on a monthly base for business reasons. What should I say....it is the best hotel in Schweinfurt, clean, comfortable, centrally based. For sure the best compromise between quality and price in Schweinfurt. The staff is nice and always available. Rooms have been renewed and are now even warmer and cosier than before. At the gorund floor there is the restaurant, for sure one of the best restaurant where to have very good Franconian white wine (Silvaner, Riesling, Trocken) and typical Bavarian food and beer and, on top, there is also a wine bar. Fantastic atmosphere. On the top floor you can enjoy the sauna and a small swimming pool....a fantastic place where to get relaxed after a hard working day.
Location = right near the central bus station (very quiet in the evening and during the night) Stuff = super friendly, super helpful, excellent sense of humor Rooms = very clean, very nice furniture, very ergonomic and comfortable Curtains = there is a U-shaped curtain that covers the window completely - light from the sides will not wake you in the morning I will definitely stays at that hotel again. Note - Book in advance as early as possible. Additional plus in my room - the floor in the bathroom had an electrical heater inside (I wish the stuff told me about it - I found the switch for it accidentally - under the sink). I stayed during a cold time, and the heated floor made my stay much more pleasant. Although there is a control for the AC on the wall, the real AC unit was located on the window seal (under the window itself). It works only to cool down the room. To warm up the room, you need to turn the handle on the heater under the window seal. I turned it all the way to the highest lever - it made the room very hot. Super plus in this hotel - on the top floor, there is a small pool (~10 meters by 5 meters) and a dry sauna. There are fresh towels in a closet. There is a hot shower. It was a huge relief to swim and to take a sauna at the end of the busy day. Note about the cigarette smell you might feel in the corridor: The entire hotel is a non-smoking. I stayed during a cold time. Therefore people did not go out completely to the street to smoke - they stayed right in the middle of the main sliding door. Therefore, the wind from the street blew some of the smoke inside the hotel staircase.…
We stayed at the Hotel Ross for 5 nights during a visit to Schweinfurt. The hotel is centrally located, within a quarter-mile walk from the Schweinfurt Mitte train station, and steps from the main shopping area and several historic market squares. There were at least two supermarkets within 1-2 blocks, and multiple bakeries, cafes, and small restaurants. The hotel has a more upscale restaurant and wine bar on the main floor. We did not visit either, but they looked very pleasant. The offered breakfast was presented in the restaurant; we did not visit the breakfast but other reviewers say it is good. In the room, there was a small refrigierator/mini bar with few stocked juices and alcoholic beverages; a price list was provided. There was just a small open space left in the fridge if you wished to put in your own drinks or food. There was no tea/coffee/kettle at all in this room. The room itself was spacious. The Ross is an older building that has been restored and modernized over the years; the windows were modern. Our room looked out over the street side; there was a fair amount of street noise but with windowns closed, it was reduced and was not a problem to us. If you stay in hotels, you always have to have earplugs with you for just-in-case anyway. There was a freestanding air conditioner floor unit by the windows; we did not have to use it, but it looks to be the solution for adding air conditioning cooling to a classic building. The furnishings were clean and modern, and the bedding (duvets) was very comfortable. There was a sofa, chair, and desk, and a generous sized wardrobe enclosure with shelves and hanging space. The bathroom looked to be recently updated; very well appointed. The shower was a walk-in type completely glassed in with a glass door. My only safety issue that I would alert the management about, is that there was no grab bar or "stripper pole" anywhere in the shower enclosure to steady a person if needed to avoid a slip and fall. One nice surprise with this hotel was on the top floor, there was a generous sized swimming pool ! It was a very nice pool; heated decently for the Autumn weather and the air in the room was nice and warm as well. In the changing area, there was also a Sauna booth. Again, a nice surprise for what seems to be the "attic" of the building. Regarding parking - the Ross is right at the edge of a no-cars pedestrian shopping area. The City parking garage that is adjacent, seems to be within that no-driving area, but no worries, just follow the signs to the entrance that leads to the underground parking area. Take the ticket/card on your way in at the automatic gate. The next morning, give that card to the Hotel Ross front desk, and they will exchange it with a card that you use to leave the parking facility. The Ross then charges your account - I believe it was 2Euros to park overnight. The Hotel Ross is family owned, and the care and attention shown to the facility shows. I would recommend this for either tourism or if you came to Schweinfurt for work.…
The Ross Hotel in Schweinfurt is centrally situated and close to an underground public parking garage. The reception and public rooms are well appointed. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and attentive. The room was simply furnished, what I missed was a comfortable chair to relax in in the evening. The bathroom in my room had seen better days but was clean. It lacked space for toiletries around the basin. The hotel includes Wifi in the room price. The signal quality was good. Continental breakfast was offered with the possibility of having eggs freshly cooked. The wine bar as part of the hotel offers a good variety of quality dishes. A reasonable hotel if one is in the area.
The “Ross” is located realy in the Hart of the town in the pedestrian area. The rooms are specious and clean. The bathroom is looking a little bit old but has everything what is needed. In summer, the rooms located on the last floor are a little bit overheated because of the fact that the AC is not working all the day. So the first impresion when you get in is that you enter to a sauna. :-)During the night, if you sleep with open windows it’s cooling down :-) I can recomend from all my hart the restaurant of the hotel which has a beautiful terace which overlook the main pedestrian place. The food is very good and tasty. ( I had a rib eye steak made of a german cow which was one of the best what I ever eat). Service is quick and lovely. An underground parking is nearby and during the night it’s cost only 2€ for the whole. …
