Arrived with great expectations and left disappointed. Apartments are ok, but can be a bit noisy. The interior is functional but I would not call it comfortable. The apartment had a nice views and a good location. Pool and spas (main hotel) are dated and uninviting. The main hotel is proud-traditional, but the service can be hit and miss and tends towards unreasonable borderline rude. The food served in the main restaurant 'Bristol' is poor with little choice and mostly consists of low quality pre-cooked stews (various meats) and easy-chef fish fillets. You can order the steak for a EUR 10 supplement. All dishes during our three day stay were served with mushy cauliflower. Some deserts were imaginative but needed improvement in terms of taste. The hotel features a self-certified fine dining restaurant, but it is the same head chef and his skills, ability and efforts seem generally deplorable. Do you research first I would say. To end on a positive note, the hotel has a sensible COVID-19 concept with a good standard of cleanliness.

We stayed 3 nights at the hotel in October. It is located beautifully at the Rhein and the tour boats depart just right outside the hotel. We stayed in a room overlooking the Rhein, it was a large room with a veranda, you can hear the trains on the other side of the river when the windows are open. There is an ok minibar at the room with with water, bier and sodas at cheap prices. The pool and sauna are nice. Breakfast is good. Unfortunately there was no coffee maker at the room which would have been nice. The staff are friendly. The location is in top for the small town and for hikes in the surroundings. Parking is possible but make a reservation in advance.

This hotel is perfectly pleasant with a great location on the waterfront near to the boat jetty. The interior is dated but in very good condition. The rooms are spacious and comfortable although the bathrooms are separated from the bedroom by a noisy glass sliding door. The rooms are in desperate need of air conditioning. In order to cool the room or get some fresh air you have to open the windows which would be fine if it wasn’t for the church bells that start chiming very 15 minutes from 0600! The hotel also has some very dangerous steps between the rooms which, in spite of the signage, are easy to miss. My mother in law fell badly and she also met someone else who had also fallen. The steps need a fluorescent strip to highlight the danger as they are hidden behind a door. The service is very friendly and efficient.

What a shock to find a walk back in time. As we walked in, the hotel oozed with quality of years past . You expect the music from Titanic to be playing. Such friendly staff, warm and inviting, with a sense of fun and excitement, to thrill you with the history of past! Spoke perfect English, we asked for a kettle in our room , by the time we climbed the stairs one was in there! ( there is a lift!) The room was spotlessly clean with quality furniture, papered panelled walls, only re-decorated the past couple of years. Bathroom spotless with a bath, which made me so happy as we have now been away nearly a month with just showers. We had the most amazing meal ever in the garden Resterant, cooked to perfection. It was hot, presented beautifully, tasted Devine . Wine was wonderful, service was spot on such friendly staff. All in all we think it was better than Cunard cruise service and dinner! It was very reasonable at 75€ for 2 steak mains served with fantastic sliced potatoes cooked with baby onions, peppers bacon and goodness knows what else , the flavours just popped into each bite! Also the salad was presented beautifully. My husband had the blueberrie cheesecake with chocolate icecreem, with just a hint of chocolate, blueberry Coulee. I would of joined him if I hadn’t of been so full, but had a sneaky spoon full! This hotel oozes with history as you walk around the third floor and see the family portraits . Still the same family own it& it shows! Haven’t yet swam in the pool, but had a peek & will definitely tomorrow as had to book a slot ( because of COVID). So glad we were forced to go back to the uk through Germany. So very well done, also the so friendly cleaning staff, who work so very hard to keep this very night standard. Thank you. will highly recommend A stay! We arrived by car, and parked across the road 100 yards away. Feeding the meter daily 4€ so reasonable.
