I gave them some critical points on booking.com, which were the truth. The room wasnt clean, I had dirty towels, i still think the toilet had urine in it, noise of neighbours, which werent my travel companions, the room was very cold amd the shower wasnt working well. you dont even know as there is nobody in the hotel to check on the guests. And then I find out you put on booking.com my review wasnt correct? You lie. So anyone please avoid this place. I cant stand people who say I lie. Disgusting.
This hotel looks nothing like the photo on the website where I booked it. It is not the large, imposing white chateau type of hotel among the trees pictured in the listing, it is just a flat storefront along the walkway with the other buildings. There is no elevator, just flights of stairs to climb to the rooms. But the room we booked was large with a balcony and a great view of the Rhine River and a castle just across the road. We had an unsecured parking space across the road. He said parking was free. A nice breakfast buffet comes with the room and is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. We had a large comfortable bed, two twins pushed together, a small table and two chairs, a large wardrobe and a desk and flat screen TV. It was a nice bathroom, somewhat dated, with the tiniest shower we’ve encountered in three weeks of hotels. It was difficult to get through the tiny opening and we could not even move in it. But at least it wasn’t one of those tall modern glass door tubs we’ve been encountering that you need a ladder to get into and out of. Particularly bad for Seniors who seem to be the majority of people traveling off season. And despite what this hotel advertises and what the man who checked us in told us, there is NO WiFi in the room. He said it was throughout the whole building and there was no sign-on necessary. No sign on because no WiFi. I hate to be deceived like that. It’s off season and the room was not inexpensive, so I would expect to have good working WiFi. The second day we asked about it. The lady cleaning rooms pointed to the WiFi above the door in our hallway and said, “See, it’s working.” We got in our room, no WiFi. After we were checked in, we were given a key to the front door, the guy left and never came back that day. So if you need anything, you are on your own. We were not comfortable with the situation. There are lots of hotels along the river. Maybe you can find one with working WiFi, a bigger, better shower, and someone who will be at the hotel 24/7.…
We stayed here for 4 nights in September. Perfect location and excellent value - easy walk to train station and shops and restaurants. Unfortunately we were delayed arriving due to a missed connection and owners were very accommodating. We had a room with a small balcony overlooking the Rhine with an excellent view of Burg Katz - unfortunately it was too chilly to sit out and enjoy he view. Breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Would definitely recommend.
I agree with the previous review from filisann. The photo online of this hotel makes it look beautiful with a lush green lawn in the country sloping down to the Rhein. It is nothing like that! We were quite shocked when we came upon it and couldn't believe that this was the right hotel. There is busy, roadway that abuts the hotel with cars and trucks zooming along, a parking lot across the street, and small section of scraggly grass that goes to the river. The inside lobby was small and looked more like a bar. The rooms may have been nice, but we did not even want to look at them after feeling deceived by this photo and amenities. Also, the owners were very displeased with us for not staying and rather insulting. I don't know how anyone can say they had a beautiful view of the Rhein from the tiny balconies that looked out on a parking lot. Don't expect what we thought would be a charming hotel here.…
This hotel used a picture for the property that was totally deceiving. Apparently it is taken from the middle of the Rhine River to make it look like it has green spaces in the front. In reality it was right up to the street with a view of parking lot. The train ran right behind the hotel. It did not feel very safe for two 70 year old women traveling on their own. The lobby was non existent and looked pretty dull. We were not sure we wanted to check in, and told the owner this. We went to our car to look up the picture and to see if there were other places that were more appealing to us. While sitting in the car the owner banged on my window wanting to know if we were going to stay there. He scared me. I told him that we were going to get lunch and think about it. He said we needed to cancel before 6 pm. He also admonished me for not speaking German. We told him repeatedly that the picture was not a good indication of the hotel, and he kept telling me that it was taken from the middle of the Rhine river. I cancelled the hotel through booking before 6pm because we were afraid to go back and tell him. I refuse to pay for this cancellation. If need be I will take it up with my credit card company. We found another hotel, and told them the story, and they said that they had heard that complaint about the Rheinperle before. To be fair, we never saw the rooms which looked nice on the website.…
