Very lovely and familial accommodation with an awesome restaurant. Good service and very nice local food. We had a Schlachtplatte (boiled pork belly, liver dumpling and freshly cooked Blutwurst and Leberwurst sausages), roast venison, schnitzel and spätzle. A good variety of beer, wine and local spirits. The staff is very kind and helpful. A shuttle service brings you to your starting point of your hiking tour and picks you up wherever you take the ground. The chef invited us for a nice midnight walk to a 3-Castle viewing point with a nice glass of wine.
A small hotel uphill in St. Goar. If you want to eat at the river Rhein you must afterwards climb uphill to the hotel. The hotel itself has an excellent kitchen. As we were there it was season for asparagus. Nice breakfast buffet. Great price-quality ratio.
A nice hotel located very close to the Rhine river of Sankt Goar opposite to the Lorelei. Nice designed hotel which makes you feel at home if you wish to enjoy the German traditional service and hospitality. Warmly welcomed and had a real nice dinner in their terrace. Room includes breakfast, served as expected. The down side is because of the hot summer rooms do not offer any fans or any cooling device as well the rooms are located on higher floors so be ready to walk a lot of stairways. Hotel offers a strong free WiFi in all areas, but the owner has put browser filters in, and therefore one has only limited access. A pity these days. Free car park. Overall a nice experience
We arrived at this hotel after a long walk along the Rhine river. The website doesn't do its location justice, as it lies in the middle of the old centre of the village. When we arrived, the owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome, bringing us drinks and towels before we could utter a word. Excellent meal in the evening. Takes an extra couple of miles from the highly frequented Rheinsteig itinerary to get there (as it's on the west bank of the Rhine), but well worth it !
A local recommended this restaurant to us when we were staying in St Goar. It's a short drive away (up a very steep hill!), but we were so glad we made the effort to find it. The owner welcomed us like long lost friends and really set the tone for the evening. Despite there being 8 of us (including 4 noisy children), the service was prompt (especially compared with the glacial speed of the other restaurants we'd tried in St Goar) and the food was excellent. Many of the local restaurants seem to have a very limited typically German menu which is fine for the first couple of meals, but wears thin after 3 days of eating out at lunch and dinner. Although the food is German cuisine, there was much more variety, including a couple of excellent fish dishes. We were just sad we only found this little gem on our last evening!…
