Basic hotel on the village square. Friendly owner. No breakfast is served out of season, but he did make me a good coffee. Good WiFi connection. Free parking for the whole village within walking distance. No elevator (lift), but they will carry your luggage up and down.

Just realized that I reviewed the restaurant and not the hotel. The theme is the same in that you won't beat the customer service! The staff and the owner, Giovanni are top-notch and the attention to detail and customer service is some of the best you'll find. Everything is super clean and affordable. As amazing and scenic as Grueyer is,...

We decided to eat something typical and hostellerie St. George was the right choice. The staff is italian, very gentle and attentive. Also the kitchen staff was smiling and professional. Food delicious. The view is breathtaking. Recommended.

Breathtaking view. Educated Staff. So welcoming that are able to make you feel at home. Giovanni and his staff just took over the business. Everything is new and the Foods are great. I will be back next year for sure for their Pizzas. one of the best I have ever tasted.

After the initial confusion of two waiters giving different instructions over where to sit, we found ourselves at a very pleasant location eating fondue. As with all Swiss restaurants, it is expensive. Fondue was 25 franks per person and a beer was 9 franks. You think you can handle the cheese. You can't handle the cheese.

We just dropped on to this hotel for lunch. What a wonderful choice the ambiance of the restaurant was first class and our table looking out over a stunning view. well received by mine host. We settled on a pizza to eat, which was superbly cooked with a thin crust base. would definitly recommend it

The room was fine. We ordered a double but got a twin room, but that was okay. However, the breakfast was dreadful. No bread, no juice, no glasses, coffee that arrived half way through the meal, cold eggs (cooked the day before, I guess) and staff that rolled eyes towards each other. No, I hope the manager will do something...

My wife and I stayed here 30 years ago. Many improvements have been made without losing the charm of the hotel. The rooms were modern but still have that old world feeling. The view we had of the mountains was spectacular. The room was very clean with a modern bathroom. And an excellent breakfast was included. We highly recommend the...

My friend and I stayed here for one night while visiting Gruyere and loved this charming town and hotel, so comfortable and owner/employees very helpful. Decor minimal and provencal; breakfast great, and owner very helpful with luggage and directions. I wasn't feeling well the morning we left and everyone made an attempt to help. Owner even brought me a tray...
