Dreadful. We have never walked out of a hotel before but Seehof du Lac changed that. Electric flex with fuse wire to cover a cut, plug sockets with gaps around them, ripped curtains, ripped furniture, black mould in the shower and more. Although outwith the control of the hotel, the town clock strikes every 15 minutes for 24 hours. There is a band room close by and music practice goes on for hours from early to late. As for a private balcony in our "junior suite", it was private only in that it is accessible from your room. Ours was cheek by jowl with the large balcony of the smaller neighbouring room and tiny. The table was rusty and not very secure. There was a wasps' nest in the balcony on the floor above, just above head height. We were due to stay for 2 nights but left after 1 without even having breakfast. We had to eat at a local cafe instead. We lost hundreds of Francs as we left Switzerland and booked into a hotel in another country. In short, overpriced, outdated, less than clean. It's telling that the hotel is not mentioned anywhere as a place to eat. Despite us telling a member of staff we were leaving, the hotel had no idea we had gone and emailed saying we were due them money. Quite the reverse really as they had an extra night of tourist tax and the prize of a night of accommodation. This hotel is best avoided. We were looking forward to what was the most expensive stay of our 3 week trip but, in the end, it tainted our holiday. Switzerland will not be getting our customs again thanks to Seehof du Lac.

I stayed at the hotel on the night of the 3rd December with my husband and with her sister’s family. The hotel is very nicely located on the shore of Lake Lucerne and one of the rooms had even a balcony with view on the lake. The room was not too large but comfortable and well furnished and had a small bathroom. The breakfast was served as a buffet. Food was sufficient but the choice was not abundant. The kind hotel staff provided several coffees and cappuccinos.

We have stayed at the Seehof Hotel du Lac in Weggis three times now and and are unlikely to stay anywhere else. So what’s so special about it? The staff are all very welcoming, friendly and helpful and ensure that your stay is enjoyable. The room we stayed in this year was large and had a balcony overlooking Lake Lucerne. In addition to a very comfortable bed it had a 2-seat settee, 2 armchairs, a table, 2 bedside cabinets, a desk and a large wardrobe. All the wood furniture is hand painted and very quaint. If you’re looking for the type of boring bedroom that you find replicated in hotels across the world then the Seehof is not for you. I hope they never change it! The rooms are spotlessly clean and are attended by housekeeping every day. There is also a well appointed and spacious en-suite. The thermostatic shower valve delivers a powerful jet of constant hot water and the shower head in our room had several adjustable jets. The hotel’s location is stunning with panoramic views, It sits on the lakeside with a spacious covered dining terrace and various seating options from where one can relax and watch the paddle steamers. With its own parking, a bus station directly outside and both the ferry terminal and cable car station a short walk away, the travel options are good. The dining room serves a wonderful selection of breakfast items from 7.30am onwards. My only hesitation in recommending the Seehof Hotel du Lac is that more of you may decide to stay there, which in turn may prevent me from booking again!! As a Brit I would make 2 suggestions:- 1. That tea/coffee making facilities be added to rooms. 2. That air conditioning units be installed. During our visit the weather was so hot that we had to ask to borrow an electric fan, which was immediately provided.

We ate there today. The location is wonderful and the food (fish) was delicious! The waitress (Patricia) was very unfriendly and rushed us! Also, after the main course she came and wanted us to pay because she was obviousely goin on break! Wow!None of us was gonna order dessert...which seemed to be a bummer - the dessert choice looked fabulous! But how would we dare to order...it would only cost the lady her time on break. Unbelievable!!! Some ppl just dont like to work anymore! Way to go!!!

We ate at the restaurant 2 times and it was very good. The food is great, but the service especially is perfect, with love for the detail. The waiter remembered us the 2nd time and even knew what our drink orders or wine choice had been. We got a free dessert and perfect treatment both nights. We will definitley come here again. Highly recommended!

Great location on the lake. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic 3* room with view on the village. Impersonal hall. Nice resturant with a terrace on the lake. Extremely expensive. Great breakfast buffet, but with self-service in corona time (?).

We don’t usually chose a 3 stars hotel but we just needed a place to crush. The room was small but very neat and clean and I would recommend booking a lake view room: its totally worth it. The dinner experience really took us by surprise. Everything was delicious, complemented with care for details you would usually find in high-end restaurants. We would definitely book again.
