We where given a 6 person room for the 4 of us. Very clean and well looked after, lots of space too. The restaurant would rate 5 stars in the valley let alone at 2000m altitude and a long way from the road! Excellent layout for the skis in the basement, drying room etc.

We walked from Leukerbad to Kandersteg, and stayed here for the night. We reserved a private double room in advance. This is a very cool, and surprisingly comfortable place to stay. We were greeted like old friends by Peter, and made comfortable right away. There was decent WiFi, many plugs for charging in good locations like the desk and bedside....

Great place! Our travel party of 4 had to stay overnight unplanned, to seek shelter for snow and wind. The owner/Hüttenwirt was very friendly, welcomed us and showed us around with enthusiasm and really made us feel at home. The hotel has every convenience you might need for wintersports (tourski, snowhiking, etc) including separate rooms for storing equipment and to...

Despite my wife's (perhaps justifiable) grumbling as I 'pulled' her behind me up the final climb from the Sunnbuel plateau to the Schwarenbach (originally a Customs post, and reputedly one of the oldest mountain inns in the country), it was more than worth the effort when we found ourselves sitting outside on the sunny patio, admiring the snow-covered scenery, and...

Stopped on our way from Leukerbad to Sunnbüel for a cup of coffee. Perfect stop, beautiful scenery and a good cup of coffee and also warm chocolate. We sat outside and looked across the stunning scenery

For nearly twenty years we have walked the high passes of Switzerland, point to point, rucksacks on backs. We have stayed here or stopped here many times. This year we stopped here for refreshments while walking from Leukerbad to Kandersteg (no cable cars!) Schwarenbach oozes charm and the owners are really friendly (albeit getting tired by the end of the...

After a long walk from Sunnbuel, this restaurant is very good located for a break. The restaurant is simple but cozy. There are books for anyone to spend a leisure time there. I ordered Rosti and found it is unexpectedly tasty. The apple tart my wife was comparatively less attractive. As my wife and I are not used to hike...
