It's a Garni so don't expect typical CH luxury. The position is the best right on the lake front. Reception is friendly and the restaurant serves late dinner on weekends. The single room is very small and so is bed and the bathroom. It's is very clean and wifi works well. For a weekend is more than enough and the...

This was a very comfortable and extremely well located hotel. Our friends booked for us all and there was no trouble getting rooms together. The view was stunning. Breakfast offered lots of variety and was fresh and tasty. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant for our evening meals as we found it noisy and crowded and thought the...

The breakfast was really good. I have been in some 3 and 4 stars hotels that does not have a breakfast like this. Lots of different bread, yogurts, fresh fruit, cereals... The bathroom was also very good for a 2 stars hotel. The view from the hotel room... Fantastic. No words

If you're thinking of going to the Ticino, the choice between Lugano, Locarno and Ascona is clear (at least in my opinion). Ascona is by far winner. My sweetheart and I just returned two days ago from a two-night (wedding-related) stay at the Piazza (in the "Olive" sister hotel just in the back of the overall complex - room #5)....

We have been there twice and always the food was very good. The atmosphere is quiet and we have time to talk and rest. We recommend it if you are near by. I remember the waiter very friendly and the orange juice so fresh. We will be back if possible. Its avoid place to go as couple.

The address supplied sent us 5km down the road and we got little help after phoning the hotel 3 times. Our room was very small, but overlooks the beautiful lake. However, this is where the party revelers hang out all night and the shouting continued till 6am - when the breakfast clatter starts. The room was stifling hot and should...

“We were on the second floor with lake view and the room was comfortable and quiet.”

“The lake-view rooms are probably great, but we were perfectly happy with the simply furnished, two-balcony room #5: double-pane windows kept out the evening and early-morning noise, the floor is artificial parquet so your feet alone inform you that it's absolutely spotless. My sweetheart thought that the showerhead was top of the line. And for all you sticklers: the toilet paper is Swiss quality!”

“The rooms with the view of the lake are noisy beyond belief and stifling hot, even though the view is lovely. Take a back room or stay further in town.”
