The rooms were clean and basic but fine. Staff was pleasant. My concern is the cancellation policy. We booked 5 rooms for two nights and had to cancel one room 24 hours ahead due to an emergency situation. They still charged us for all five rooms for both days. Will never book a place that doesn't allow 24 hour cancellation again. We are a small non-profit and the extra cost of paying for two rooms we never got the keys for is significant to us.

Please check you credit card receipt. You were charged for 8 rooms (4 rooms, 2 nights each). I had informed you that, if we could rent the room out we would not charge you for the cancellation, and we did not charge you for the cancellation.

We stayed here this weekend with my son's hockey team, as we were in town for a tournament. I was dubious after reading other reviews and seeing photos online but I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very clean and spacious.

My only issues were that the hallway isn't heated (and it was sooo cold), and the beds were very firm.

The owners were pleasant and very tolerant of our large group of young children.

If you're looking for a quick over night stay, the Ranch House Inn is fine. The very small hotel (and rooms) looks fairly modern and offer all the necessities you need. Cable T.V., fridge etc. The hotel also offers a bar/restaurant but wasn't open when we arrived (about 9 p.m.) and was closed when we left the next morning. (Not sure if it's ever open.) This hotel does not offer any breakfast service at all and if you want ice, you need to buy a bag for $2.00. In the morning when we were leaving the front lobby was all locked up and nobody to help us or sell us a bag of ice.
The hotel is right on main street South with free parking behind the building that also has other business attached. Grand Bend is about 20 minutes away.
The only part of our stay we DIDN'T like was that the room had 2 double beds. We were told no queen beds were available that night yet walking down the hall to our room the hotel appeared to be fairly empty. (There is a window to each room from the hallway and you could see the rooms were empty.) We paid $99 ~ as parents that are getting away for the weekend we would have loved sharing a queen bed.

My teenage daughter and I stayed here. First off, the location is not the easiest to find. When we first walked in, you could smell Marijuana. When we entered the room, it was dirty on the ceiling, unknown white powdery substance in the corner, dirty carpet, and what appeared to be a cigarette burn embedded in the carpet as well. Also, the TV was difficult to operate and the beds felt like you where sleeping on a wooden board. Furthermore, the complimentary toiletry basket was a french fry basket rather than a nice ascethic basket. Not to mention the paint peeling off the ceiling and it's discoloration. In addition, when we came back after dinner we could hear a girl screaming within the hotel. Overall, I do not recommend staying at this hotel as it is not suitable for children and families.

This place is a dump. I'm not sure how they have a license to run a hotel.
Rooms are extremely filthy and beds are marginally better than sleeping on concrete. Walls were dirtier than a men's restroom floor in a crowded sports complex near the end of the game. Bathroom fan had a thick layer of greasy dust on the cover (obviously hasn't ever been cleaned...). Tooth paste on walls, that weren't the bathroom walls. When we brought the staff in to have a look at the state of the room, they assured us that this room was just cleaned and that the bathroom fan vent was wiped that week. They couldn't care less about the state the room was in. Terrible service, rude staff, and rooms I wouldn't stay in if I was being paid...

The bathroom fan was our mistake, and has been fixed. However you were in the room over 2 hours. You complained about the room after 1 1/2 hours in the room, and asked for a free night. Free night was not given to you, however a full refund was issued.

This is comparable to a hostel. Everything you read is true, clean, cheap, hard bed and pillow. Good for a nights stay if you can not find any accommodations Grand Bend. It does take about 15 to 20 min to drive to Grand Bend. Oh the pictures are exactly what you get. The hotel is directly on main street, the man helped my husband, took our luggage and put it in our room when it was ready. He was very nice.

We decided to stay outside of Grand Bend this year as it has gotten just crazy busy there. It was about 20 minutes to the beach and a little longer to the drag races. The price was okay .... not really a bargain but okay .... they need to get an ice machine!!!

This Inn is very basic but absolutely spotless. Crisp sheets, sparkling bathroom. Very quiet. Large room. Reasonable room rate. Free parking in back. We liked that the incoming doors were locked from 9:30 to 7:30. Room key only to get in. The exterior is a bit old and deceiving... But do not let you not stay there.

My husband and i were going back where he spent his summers in Huron area. We did a lot of looking at hotels, motels. We finally found this Inn. It was a great choice. The desk clerk was very nice. The rooms were nice and clean. Beds very comfortable i didnt have any complaints as i slept like a baby all night. Close to everything. Would defintely be back. One thing i really liked was the artwork along the walls in the lobby.

This place looks like a dive on the outside but inside is very clean and comfortable and large. Lots of room in the rooms. Owner is extreamly nice and very hospitable. Did I mention it was cheap too?

We will definitely be back. Exeter is a great historical town. We are still searching for the mystery of the white squirrel.
