Staying at the Monteverdi was one of the highlights of our trip. The staff is exceptional - attentive with a light touch and provided us with some of the best travel tips that we got for our next stops. The food and wine list is...More
My wife and I were lucky enough to spend a night (next time it will be longer) at Monteverdi at the start of their season this year. We were blown away by the attention to detail, outstanding service, and obvious love that has been poured...More
My wife and I spent 3 nights at Monteverdi and the experience was wonderful.
We drove from Florence, taking a scenic route via Siena. GPS certainly helped the navigation.
This was a place where we could truly relax and appreciate the simple luxury of tranquility....More
We first visited Monteverdi Tuscany for 3 days in July 2014. My husband wished a most special place to celebrate his 60th birthday this September and chose to return here for nine days This choice pretty much says how much we loved this place. MT...More

Hi Ruth, Tobleso is correct about the length of the pool, and I am confident you will enjoy the view! You would just need to swim more laps than usual. There are also ample opportunities for hiking on the property and a private gym with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment. We hope to see you soon!

The drive to Monterverdi is a great drive, do not let some of the posts fool you. It is super easy to navigate, both our car nav system and google maps on our iphone was perfectly fine. With that said, if you are coming from Sarteano, the roads are paved until the very last bit which is about 3 km, where it turns to compacted gravel road. The hotel will valet the car for you, or you can also park it on a gravel parking pad behind the villas, which was convenient for us since the villa we were renting was only a minute away. I rented a Citroen DS 5, which is a sports sedan and i had no problems navigating around Tuscany and to and from Monterverdi. Enter the coordinates below in Google Earth and it will show you the location of the parking.

Thank you for the question. Both Florence and Siena are great choices, if you plan to spend time in the cities. If you are looking for the quickest route to Monteverdi, Siena is closer than Florence; however, the nearest train station is in Chiusi. Our concierges can help you plan your route most effectively. We look forward to your stay in July.
