We had a lovely stay at this motel. Conveniently located right alongside the highway, and the beauty of the north all around. The rooms are cozy, cute and the beds are so comfortable. I had the best sleeps in a long time. No noisy traffic sounds outside and you can see the stars so clearly in the sky from your window.

I think new owners took over in the winter and completely revamped the place with all new flat screen TVs, furniture, decor and coffee makers in the rooms.

Such a relaxing and comfortable vibe! Will definitely stay here again! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

By far the best motel we’ve ever stayed in. Owners are warm, welcoming, gave great tips for things to do in the area and clearly put a lot of hard work into caring for their place. The rooms feel airy, bright, clean, and the location is fantastic. Highly recommend.

After staying in so many tired, scruffy motels along the Teans-Canada Highway, it is so nice to stay in a place that is clean, has a super-comfortable bed, and is beautifully decorated. There are a couple of beaches you can walk to, so you can stretch your legs after a long drive. If we return when the restaurant is open, we will definitely plan dinner there. It looks really nice.

What an incredible experience! When you “fly by the seat of your pants” like we do you keep your expectations very low. McCauleys has shown us that you can find a gem if you’re lucky. The room was very comfortable and modern with new furnishings and a clean environment. The restaurant which opened at 4 was warmed by a wood fire and a staff that really cares. The food was homemade and delicious, the beer was cold and green for St. Patrick’s Day, and the dessert was so fresh we had to wait for it to come out of the oven. All that being said, the owners really love what they’re doing and it shows in every aspect of the experience. Even Duke was welcoming and gave us some love.
Not what you expect from a motel in northern Ontario!

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN room!!! Super comfortable new bed felt like we were sleeping on a cloud all night. The owners were awesome people that helped out in any way they could to make us feel at home. I asked for extra pillows and with in seconds I had nice comfy extra pillows on my bed. The view of the mountain was spectacular. This place is right off the HWY a nice little gem to stay at. Feels like home away from home. Can’t ask for more accommodating and friendly owners than Justin and Alicia. Thank you 🙏 we will be back.

Very friendly owners, beautiful area near Lake Superior. We were able to cross the street and watch the sun set in the evening-so picturesque. Rooms are modern and clean. The king bed was super comfy!
We enjoyed our stay, as we were made to feel welcome and even enjoyed a late night fire, that was provided by the owners.
Having dinner was pleasant and service was great. The taco salad was the best I’ve ever had. We have stayed there twice and would stay again. 🤗

Recently drove from Kingston to Winnipeg with myself, father, 8 year old twins and our puppy.
We were looking for somewhere to sleep for the night before continuing on. We stopped at 3 motels and non of them were suitable for a family and some not for anyone in my opinion. They We found this place.
The rooms are beautiful, clean and well maintained. The couple that runs it were delightful and super helpful.

Located a minute walk from a beautiful little beach with a beautiful sunset view.

If you are going this way this place is the place to stay!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at McCauley’s and we had an incredible time. Only 5 minutes away from some of the best cross country trails we have ever skied on, an Alpaca petting zoo right around the corner and snowmobile trails you can snowmobile to from the hotel. To top it off the owners Justin and Alicia are the nicest most hospitable people you will ever meet!! This was an amazing vacation we will definitely be back!!

Wow. We were not expecting this place to be as amazing as it is. We were on a rode trip from Winnipeg to southern Ontario and stayed for a night at McCauleys. We cannot express how wonderful this place is! The rooms are beautiful, clean, welcoming and spacious. Our room had a mini fridge/freezer and microwave with a Keurig coffee machine and giant fan… and the beds are SO COMFY!!
This location also has an AWESOME restaurant. If you’re just looking for a nice cold beer and wings, they’ve got it! But if you’re looking for something a little fancier, this place is for you too! We enjoyed some wings, nachos and a lovely charcuterie board with beer and wine. They have something for everyone. This place is a MUST see. We loved it. Thank you Alicia and Justin for a wonderful experience!

Great find. Historic old motel recently taken on and Reno’d by a couple with local roots. Beautifully done, charming room with a great (Endy!) bed. The bar/resto has reopened and is also outstanding (fresh local fish for us). If we are back near the Sault again we wouldn’t even consider anywhere else. And the Bay is right there for the holiday folks.
