We visited for the first time today pleasantly surprised much nicer inside than out a bit untidy by the bins at front ,staff lovely, food nice main course a bit slow perhaps a little expensive 11.99 for mains so if you want the standard 3 courses like other eating places around 22.00 a bit on the steep side . Last minute night away. Had a superb time. Friendly staff made us very welcome from the moment we arrived. Food was amazing in the restaurant. Thanks for a great relaxing evening in lovely surroundings. Would definately reccommend.

4 of us stayed here during our walk of the Pennine Way. The outside looks tired as the car park needs re-surfacing but don't be put off. Really friendly staff and the food was excellent. A country inn with great views. We all enjoyed our food and had a good night's sleep.

Had a great lunch here today. We had the fish and chip special...two for 12 pounds. Lovely food and brilliant service . There is a great choice of beers and the prices are fair. We eat in the restaurant but had we wanted we could have sat in the bar area to eat. We have visited several times in the...

On making a reservation for 4 people over the phone I asked for and got a conformation of the table in the window alcove, overlooking the valley below ,a lovely view. On wishing the lady receptionists that it was great news, and telling my best friends how good it's going to be , I was put back somewhat when we...

While up there for the Whit Friday marches and having been very well looked after in the past we booked for a Saturday evening meal. The meals from the extensive menu were tasty, well presented and served by a pleasant chatty waitress. A good evening out. We ill be back.

Service is shocking, staff don't know what they sell and took ages bringing food out so much so we ended up cancelling our deserts as we had waited so long! There are no baby changing facilities what so ever so have to change baby on your knee in the disabled toilet which is not convenient at all and lets this...

Very disappointed with the choice of meals for vegetarians...... ONLY 1, when I asked the waitress, I was told that there was fish?? that's not vegetarian. The quality of the food was pretty poor and expensive for what it was (the meat eaters were disappointed too), the staff were disinterested. The view was pleasant but it's not worth making the...

The staff and manager were very warm and welcoming and initiated conversation as soon as we arrived, which was refreshing, as other places I've stayed have literally thrown the key at me and said "enjoy your stay" but the staff at the Moorcock really make you feel at home. We were shown to our rooms which were lovely with a...
