The Eco-lodge is definitely worth going off the beaten path to get to. If you are looking for a really unique experience, and are not averse to a bit of a physical challenge, do check it out. The staff was really helpful, and it's amazing to be able to be in such pristine wilderness.

We are not a typical outdoorsy family but out of the blue, we opted for two nights in Kolarbyn during a 8-day stay in Sweden/Denmark. We had a blast. My 9 year old boy felt like this was "REAL" camping. For me, it was a philosophical moment to realize that it took me an hour and a half to make...

If you are really looking for a truly unique experience in Sweden this place should be included during your trip. The place consists of small cabins in the forest. After your arrival you get instruction how to use the facility and make the most of your stay. You learn how to chop wood safely and build your own fire on...

We stayed here for one night together with my husband and two dogs. Really friendly service and a wonderful place overall. I can recommend the 6km walk around the lake, as well as mushroom and berry picking in the nearby forests. The floating sauna was excellent and well worth a try. It was also great fun to cook food over...

Such an awesome set-up, There can't be anything else like Kolarbyn in the world! Highly recommended for anyone interested in nature, bushcraft, wildlife, camping, foraging or photography. The lake is beautiful, wildlife around the lake include Pine Marten, perch, pike, common lizard, slow-worm, and many more! Edibles like Chanterelles, blueberries and strawberries grow everywhere. A lovely place to meet likeminded...

This is definitely a must for those who like wilderness and animals. There are nightly trips out to see different animals such as beavers and moose (costed separately). The rooms themselves are unlike anything I've seen before, and are fairly cosy, although a little small for those who might be of bigger build. When I went in summer, the fire...

Very recommended experience for those who like getting along by themselves. Romantic atmosphere in an isolated camping site. The cabins there are small but warm. It is recommended to go there only if you are ok with cold weather, otherwise consider visiting places with a better and more modern heating arrangements.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon in November and we were immediately greeted and welcomed to the area by Andreas. It was...

My 8 year old daughter and I stayed in Kolarbyn for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. It was easier than I thought getting used to basic life and after two days, I felt I was getting a much needed relax from hectic life. I would suggest to definetely stay longer than just one night, since you need some time...

My 8-year old boy and I spent two nights at Kolarbyn. It was a great wilderness experience complete with beautiful scenery, forest hiking, lake swimming, wood chopping, streamwater drinking, fire-building and campfire cooking -- in short, paradise for my boy (and me). At the same time, it is in fact a lot easier than simply camping under the stars, since...
