I had a great two night stay at the Denault Mansion in Delta, Ontario this Fall. The guest house is charming, rooms are comfy, and my hosts Theo and Mariska were great. Food was tasty and cooked to order. I will stay there again on my next visit to that area, highly recommend it to everyone. Check out the pics.
We stayed at the Denaut Mansion for two nights. What a wonderfully relaxing and beautiful place to relax. We stayed in the Julia room which was lovely and very comfortable. Our hosts were amazing. So welcoming and kind. The pool was a real hit with our son and we took advantage of the canoe and went for a lovely paddle around the lake. Breakfast each morning was fresh, plentiful and delicious. We would go again in a heartbeat.
The Denaut Mansion is located in Delta, a hamlet between Kingston and Smith Falls. We were welcomed by Theo & Mariska, a lovely couple who run the B&B. They showed us around this tastefully decorated historical mansion (dating back to 1849) and also spoke of some historical facts about the town and the area (particularly the Historic Flour Mill - 1810). We spent two nights in the Julia Room over looking the front yard and backyard while our friends occupied two other rooms that overlooked the pool. Loved the Julia Room with Twin Beds, small ensuite and sitting room area. The rooms were very clean and beds very comfortable. The front entrance is is beautiful with a big wide staircase and chandelier. The character of the Mansion was wonderful. Btw....We had no requirement for TV and they had free wifi. We had a delicious home made breakfast both mornings. Thank you Theo & Mariska.....the coffee was excellent!!!!! Pancakes, yogurt, fruit, prosciutto, fresh bread (day 1) Scrambled Eggs, bacon, fruit, cheese, yogurt, fresh bread.....wow!!! If you’re travelling through this area do yourself a favour....make a reservation....very comfortable and relaxing.…
The rooms are spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable, soft linens, the breakfast every day is a little bit different. Everything fresh and homemade.I was so full I did not need lunch. The couple who runs it are lovely! So sweet & kind and so knowledgeable about the area. The pool is very clean & beautiful also. If you want a place to relax or a jumping off point for the local small towns & villages to meander, this B&B is the place to stay. There is no TV, which I was very happy about. They do have internet, if you need it. I will go back there to get away from the crazy world we live in.
This is a superb gem. The B&B is run by a lovely couple from Limburg, The Netherlands. My cousin and I were in the Julia room. A very big, old house but tastefully decorated. A very nice breakfast was included. We had two suppers there from the small bar menu. Theo prepared the meals right then and there. The grounds were large and lovely. We had an interesting canoe ride. The lake is a bit of a distance and is fine for canoeing (not swimming as many water lillies). The pool is large enough for lap swimming. Besides, the lovely couple who run the B&B, the other guests were interesting and friendly. Delta is a small village north east of Kingston. It has some historical parts.
