We had a really nice stay at this hotel. The location and the food was brilliant. We had a really nice dinner in the sunset after a day walking in the mountains. The staff was so helpful and kind, have to come back here another time!

We have arrived spontaneously at Calacuccia - the plan was to climb Paglia Orba - and looked for a room for the night. We found la Casa Vanella and with it, we found a very warm and cosy home for 2 days. Francois and his family welcomed us very warmly and gave us some good advice for what to see...

I arrived at Casa Vanella late at night and could see nothing at all. It was the end of May, 2013. When I woke up in the morning, I thought I was still dreaming... it was so beautiful... I still have in my memory the spectacular scenery, the smell of the fresh mountain air that struck me when I opened...

When you find a place as good as this one it is tempting to keep it to yourself especially in an isolated area like the Niolo. But, Jean Francois and his family offer a superb facility in this most beautiful part of Corsica. We were very much out of season and hardly saw another person as we walked around these...

Charming hosts with superb knowledge of area recommending perfect walks. Very much a walkers spot with superb access to the mountains. Very tranquil location to watch the sun go down. Food is good homecooking. Would recommend.

On a whim we decided to give Casa Vanella a call to see if they had a room for the night. We are so glad we made the ascent into the heart of Corsica. Being October it was crisp outside but the accommodation was warm, clean and fresh and very well appointed. Dinner was a Corsican feast - some of...

Another great stay at Casa Vanella. A nice and well kept B&B in the heart of Corsica, with fantastic views. Perfect location as a base for hikes in this area, and lots of good advice on where to go. Excellent food - breakfast, picnic lunches and dinners; with many Corsican specialities and homemade dishes. And the hospitality couldn't be better,...

We stayed at Casa Vanella for 2 nights and had a brilliant time. The owners are incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful and gave us great advice on how to spend our time. The building itself is very cool, spacious, clean and pretty, as well as being very quiet due to the remote location. The breakfast had some nice touches such...

Upon arrival, Casa Vanella just blended into the countryside and real Corsican mountain village life. We felt immediately at home and even more so given the welcome of Jean-Francois and the fact we arrived 6 hours before we would normally be able to check in. Nothing was too much trouble, rooms were spacey, very clean, wifi worked well anywhere, even...

Casa Vanella is a wonderful experience. The view from the rooms and terrace is breathtaking surrounded by beautifull mountains. The hospitality is warm and genuine from the host Jean Francois and his family. Highly recommended!
