We arrived at this hotel, having just come from the Sheraton in Vina del Mar which is in one word, spectacular. After taking the train to Limache, our taxi driver kept driving along this dirt path until we reached this place. There seemed to be NO other guests and we checked into our room that had a "kitchenette" though unsupplied and a table with two chairs in a living room. There was a sliding glass door onto a little patio that faced a pool that had been drained. There were literally four lightbulbs in the entire room and once the sun set, it had a depressing fluorescent glow. The best feature was the hot shower with great water pressure. And although the room was only about $50 and it wasn't dirty, it just wasn't very comfortable. The kind of place where you gingerly peel back the covers and examine the sheets before you lie down. We stayed one night and moved down the street to el Copihue which was more than twice as expensive, but much nicer. The breakfast we got (a roll and some coffee) was also the most minimal during our time in Chile. This place is pretty far from town so unless you have a car, I wouldn't stay here. When we did get a ride home at night, we noticed a lot of people just hanging out in the dark streets. Whether this would have been unsafe, I'm not sure, but I was relieved to be arriving by car.
