Personal hosting, excellent food (including a cornucopia of salad greens from the hosts' garden), and comfortable rooms with private balconies all add up to a special place in an idyllic location. Mahana hosts John and Ann are attentive, but non-intrusive hosts who offer their guests (8 maximum) an opportunity to enjoy dinner together at a common table -- a welcome...

We spent 2 nights at Mahana during our walk of the Queen Charlotte track. Its a lovely spot in its own little cove with the lodges set back at the bush edge. Very comfy and excellent meals too, all served with warmth and care by John and Ann. Hosts don't come any warmer or more accommodating and their care makes...

My 3 generation family have just spent 3 days at Mahana Lodge to celebrate my 70th birthday. Words like amazing, perfect, terrific, fabulous etc kept being repeated. The location is special but even more special are hosts Ann and John. They couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly, helpful, caring, etc [I could go on!]. Ann's meals are top restaurant style...

Staying at Mahana Lodge was a highlight during our walk on the Queen Charlotte Track. After torrential rain what a warm greeting we received. The accom is lovely and tea and coffee and afternoon included was a welcome surprise. Ann and John provided a delicious meal and lovely wines. A great conclusion to an excellent day.

Spent our second night on the QCT at Mahana Lodge and it was the absolute highlight of our entire 4 night/5 day experience. John and Ann were extremely welcoming hosts who really seem to care about their guests. The accommodation itself is four rooms arranged around a communal kitchen/lounge and is very comfortable. The kitchen is not available to cook...

Our cycling of the queen charlotte trail was cancelled because of heavy rain but we chose to drive out and stay here anyway, and we are so pleased we did. The drive out is very slow (2 hours from the point you turn off the main road) but it's also beautiful and very enjoyable if you're not in a hurry....

My family and I were hiking the Queen Charlotte Trail. As luck would have it, it rained heavily. When we arrived at the Mahana, we were greeted warmly. Literally. The lodge fireplace was lit and our hosts helped settle us in and dry us out. This is a great place to stay and the hosts are on top of all...

It was the attention to detail, the wonderfully warm welcome, the feeling that we could have been long lost relatives sharing a meal in the conservatory that won us over. From a very welcome introduction to our lodge, complete with cosy log fire, offer to launder our damp clothes, home-made brownies and little bottle of champers, an umbrella for our...

Great quite lodge with beautiful view and atmosphere. It is within the queen charlotte track, the hosts give you all the information you need about the track. We also had a nice dinner that is set by the hosts (with additional cost) and organized as a family dinner, which was nice to talk and meet new people, hear tips etc.
