Detailed Reviews
A lovely and unforgettable experience, one year of warm welcomes, happy moments and delicious meals.
This is what I had the luckily chance to experience at Laurence&Lionel’s enchanted mansion.
I had been travelling to the Isère region for work, alone, each week, nonstop, for more than a year. Staying at the Domaine in company of such a great couple and their special guests, made me feel like home.
It is not easy to find an accommodation where you can really enjoy the little spare time you have at the end of long working hours: share a 5 star home made meal, have broad and very interesting conversations, get a very good rest in their digest taste and quiet rooms and waking up with the good magic perfume of warm brioches and pain au chocolats.
This is the place to be to explore the great region of Isère, recover, relax and nourish your mind and your soul!
I will always be grateful for having found a second family :)

This is the most beautiful home , with gorgeous rooms that are full of light and the most lovely hostess Laurence who went so far out of her way to make our stay special . She was full of helpful recommendations for local things to do , of which there are many , and provided a box of toys for our little boy that kept him smiling . Breakfast on the terrace was heaven and we were truly sad to leave . Really can’t recommend it enough .

As others have stated, I wish I could have had more time in this lovely house. We only had one night, but we were made to feel very welcome, and enjoyed the family atmosphere. Lionel and Laurence were charming and interesting to talk with, we also enjoyed the champagne and nibbles they provided. We had 2 adult sons with us, they enjoyed the house and tennis court, and would have used the pool if it had been warmer. The rooms were beautiful, the beds comfortable, we would definitely stay there again.

We stop regularly at theDomaine du Manoir and we are never disappointed. It is a beautiful place, garden & house, and the hosts make you feel completely at home. A bit like staying with old friends.
So we shall probably stay there again hoping that the weather will be more friendly giving us a chance to enjoy not only the confort of the house but the beautiful garden as well.
Special mention for the delicious continental breakfast.

Response from lionel M, Gérant at Domaine du Manoir
Responded May 20, 2018
Dear Françoise and David, Because you left a comment in English, we are going to try to answer you in English. Be indulgent please, we are not lucky as you to be bilingual. We had the same feeling as you after your stay. We were happy to see you coming back, the impression than when you wait for people of the family that we did not see for a long time, it was strange. Also the impression to continue the story left the last time, shared between England and Provence. Thank you for your warm and promised message, we will command you sun and heat for your next stay ! But where you go, it doesn't matter, you will find it ! We wish you a pleasant stay in the middle of lavenders and cicadas... Sincerely Yours, Lionel and Laurence

I have just attended the wedding hosted at Domaine du Manoir, and I just can't stop praising enough the place, and it's wonderful owners. Its been the biggest pleasure and I would love to repeat the whole experience. The hotel is kept immaculate, its spacious, full of history and character, but this same time offers modern, comfortable accommodation. The surrounding grounds are very relaxed and have particularly welcome feel. The owners Lawrence and Lionel are best hosts ever! Very friendly, very attentive, but this same time very respectful of visitors privacy, and super professional. No aspect was overlooked in this memorable experience, which included open bar since afternoon for aperitif and appetizers, followed by long dinner and party till 4 am, and then satisfying and cosy branch. I truly, truly recommend the place as a hotel, and as a venue for weddings, birthdays etc..

The Domain is very beautiful and the interior is decorated with great taste. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The surroundings with the swimming pool were just awesome. We never slept in place as calm as the Domaine! The host made sure we felt like at home. Definitely a place to stay again!

Unfortunately the Domaine was full and we just had dinner there. Nevertheless i want to leave a review for the warm welcome and hospitality of the owners. The atmosphere very friendly and the dinner outstanding. Very pleasant moments for all the 4 of us. I strongly recommend it

Hidden away off the beaten path, this carefully restored manoir is both modern and comfortable. Wonderful rooms with modern spotless ensuite bathrooms, fine linens and towels, and welcoming public rooms. The owners are attractive and friendly, speak good English, and make guests feel welcome immediately. Nights are quiet on this entirely enclosed enclave, which includes a lovely pool amidst gardens. Very nice breakfast and lovely dinner. We wish we had planned to stay longer.

Walking into this Manoir was a wonderful surprise and so much more than we expected… or saw via the internet. Everything, and I mean everything was superb, inspiring, relaxing and felt like home (though I wish my home looked like that!).
It is impossible to describe the warm and fuzzy feelings our entire family had or the emotions my father felt as he was remembering his childhood in France. This Manoir brought it all, and more, in spades.
And to add to this amazing trip, we were blessed with hosts that you can’t even begin to describe. I think they should be the mould of all hosts! Beautiful people, nice, funny, charming, intelligent, helpful…
Can you tell I fell in love with this place?

Whilst a little difficult to find our welcome was fantastic. After a tour of this beautiful house we sat down with our hosts for a very welcome aperitif of the locally produced bubbly (which was excellent). The rooms are superbly appointed; the bed was very comfortable, Breakfast was splendid with a choice of delicious cheeses and ham, pastries, breads etc.
No evening meal but we were directed to one of several local restaurants which proved to be excellent too! Our hosts would have picked us up after our meal as it was a bit of walk but we decided we needed the walk after the superb dinner.

"Our bedroom had 4 full-height windows including one in the bathroom, all opening onto the countryside. Luxurious ambiance with nice country furniture and decorative accessories. Spacious bathroom even with no tub - just a large open shower. Extremely quiet at night. "Read full review
