Reservation is usually done through their website. Note that if you wish to get the Fadoq card rebate, you must reserve by phone. Staff was polite at all times. Our room was ready when we arrived. Located on the ground floor close to the kitchen of the restaurant part, it was surprisingly quiet. The room itself was simply furnished in a modern style but well appointed. Everything was clean. Bed was comfortable. Standard bathroom had enough towels and soap/shampoo. Wifi worked well and there was plenty of free parking. Price was reasonable. What else do you need?

Note: The inn itself is situated right beside the local IGA grocery store. Very practical if you wish to make a picnic on the beach right behind (the inn has a little area with tables & chairs accessing the beach). Across the street, the bakery sells excellent 'renversés à l'érable' (croissant dough in a swirl with maple syrup & pecans). Great for breakfast!

We popped into the restaurant here, very last minute when we were staying in Carleton-Sur-Mer and what a pleasant surprise. The service was excellent and so was the food. You really need to have the seafood soup. It was full of seafood, with a caramelized scallop cooked perfectly.
They also have a little gift shop where I found these Balsalmic Pearls, that I've been wanted to purchase for a while.

During my stay in the lovely little town of Maria in Gaspésie, Québec, I stayed in the “Auberge du Marchand”. A small comfortable hotel with friendly staff who go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. I stayed in a comfortable room with view on the bay

We arrived really late the first night but they accomodate us (first thumbs up).
We were in a tiny room in our first night, we were a family of 3 people with our little girl, it was ok (clean room, comfortable bed). We managed to put a inflatable bed in the room but with our luggages it was not possible to put it in. :)

Then, we asked for another room if a cancelation will occur. So surprise!!!
We got a really beautiful room, great space, really clean with a view to the sea, and a dining/relaxing area. We were amazed and greatful! (especially compared to the other room). so another thumbs up for that!

So I highly recommend you this place from the welcome from the reception to the room service and everything. People here are really nice. Thank you so much! We really appreciate it!

And also the restaurant, food was very good. Due to Covid, we just went there once for breakfast and ordered something to take-out for lunch. All of them really tasty.

Definitely we will come back and thanks for all.

Really great experience. Nice people, well presented rooms, great location right on waterfront. Breakfast restaurant is fab. Conveniently located next to supermarket, if you want to eat-in with their apartments. Will definitely return.

I had not reviewed this motel in TripAdvisor prior to my trip as I had not expected to be in Maria late enough to find a place to stay. The outside of this motel looked inviting enough but once inside it is pretty dismal. Even so, I decided to ask for a room as I was very tired and it was getting later in day. I was given a room upstairs (no elevator)-the man behind the desk said it was broken. I was able to park my car in front of the lobby just to unload however, which was good, as the only parking was way over where the entrance to the restaurant is. My room was completely bare of decoration and all basically brown. Absolutely not a single picture on any wall, the floors were all linoleum, and the walls were all beige with the bedspread a brown color. The glass-walled shower stall was right as you came in and beside the bed (explaining the linoleum floors). None of the normal "niceties" you usually find in a motel like a box of tissues. There was a small sample bottle of shampoo, which was nice---but only 1 tiny bar of soap you had to carry back and forth between the sink and shower stall.

And yet-------the restaurant downstairs was wonderful---and brightly colored---and comfortable----and great food! It's too bad that whoever arranged the restaurant did not also take charge of the rooms. Room had AC which was very noisy. (but at least it had AC). There was a communal kitchen near my room, which would be nice for folks traveling with their own food.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for 1 night on July 26. We had a booking for a suite (because the other types of rooms were supposedly not available when we called).
The "suite" is right next to the front desk, by the restaurant's bathroom and the only window is right on the main road. When we walked in the room it was very humid and we could hear road traffic as if we were outside. It's not really a suite as it's only a room with 2 beds (smallish) and a futon. The bathroom sink was cracked.
We asked to see another room because we were not prepared to pay 120$+ for that kind of room.
We were immediately sent to another room on the 2nd level. It was a very small room with a view on garbage and a garage right next to the emergency exit. We were tired from a long day on the road so we settled for that... at about 90$ +tax.
In the evening it started raining and the roof has no gutters so the rain was dripping extra loudly on the a/c unit. Lots of rain... all night long!
the bed was small, old and really uncomfortable. At about 3:30 am, a group of very loud, very drunk people came in and decided the party wasn't over... that is when we discovered the walls are actually made of cardboard.
Then, there was a small rug in front of the toilet (which I thought was awkward) so I checked under to see if something was wrong, indeed there was a piece of the vinyl flooring that was missing.
In the morning, we wanted to talk to the employee to let them know about the dripping problem on the a/c, but we waited, and waited and no one showed up, front desk was closed. I guess they know it's crappy but they don't give a hoot about the comments as it's prepaid.
We spent the next night at Hotel Francis in New Richmond. Paid 129$+tax, with access to the spa, the pool, a brand new bathroom and a super comfortable queen bed.

The self catering facilities were great and the staff very welcoming. There is an IGA supermarket just across the car park. The double bed and room were a bit on the small side.

We stayed here during a saddle bag snowmobile trip and had a wonderful stay! Nice room with a great view with the comfiest beds of the week! Very clean/updated room and friendly staff. The bar and restaurant were great with very good food. There was even a little kitchen and gathering area where we met in the evenings. Would love to come back in the summer!
