We arrived after hiking from El Chalten, Argentina. We had been delayed due to our boat not sailing so we arrived late. Despite arriving a day late the kind owner had kept our room for us and was happy to add an extra night so we could recover. The room was clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. The...

We enjoyed a 3 night stay in a private room with bathroom. The room was very clean and the bed linen was the best we found in this level of accommodation in Chile. A serviced washing of clothes was available and reasonably priced. The more than adequate breakfast included real coffee. Only small negative was that you had to be...

Wir felt really at home at the end of the world, in the warm and friendly atmosphere in El Mosco. We liked very much our stay in the cosy rooms. Manuel recommended us trips we could do, organized football matches with the local police and Carmen prepared excellent breakfasts (cakes, pancakes, eggs and empanadas included). For every question about Villa...

At the southern end of the carretera austral, o Higgins is a tiny place. El Mosco has a warm kitchen and sitting area, camping and good showers. Lots of advice on where to buy tickets for the boat to Argentina, shops, and what's on locally. After cycling all that way from Cochrane, it was ideal.

Upon arriving to Villa O´Higgins, we saw "El Mosco". A Logde like Hostel with option for camping. The night we arrived the guests and Fili, the boss, had prepared an amazing lamb in the oven. They invited all the newcomers. Excelent start. The next day, Fili, offered all her help to find almost a quarter of a cow for an...

El Mosco is a home away from home, located in one of the most remote parts of Chile. Accommodation is divided into dormitory style rooms (downstairs) and private rooms (upstairs). The accommodation was comfortable and the service is excellent. The hosts go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Good value for money and I would definitely recommend...

Big common clean area with kitchen, 6 bed shared rooms, staff was very friendly. Clean simple bathrooms. Poor Internet in Villa Ohiggins (saturated sat link). PC available. Many bikers & backpackers from all around stay here & share experiences crossing to Argentina or hiking Carretera Austral.

I've been there for a night in January 2012. It's a very friendly and not expensive hostel, with good bethrooms, big kitchen, warm dorms and wi-fi.They have also a camping area right in front the porch. The hostel is run by a French guy who knows a lot of the area and may give you good tips about places to visit.
